these men are literally geniuses, a whole self- produced album is such an impressive feat. and now they all have producing AND writing credits, i'm so proud of them. all the songs sound so amazing and it's so nice that we get the behind the scenes of seeing them work on their art. onlyoneof is truly a unique group, unlike any I've seen before. i hope they get to blow up again soon like they did in their past era's. 🥺

In case anyone doesn’t know, here’s a rundown of some basic things regarding Love/Jisung’s departure. - It appeared to be very sudden, with messages from Love roughly a week prior showing he was expecting to continue in the group and actively working on future group activities - It was unexpected, as Love has always been enthusiastic about working as a part of OnlyOneOf. He showed no interest in going solo and was an active part of the team with no signs that he wanted to leave the group. - It was exclusively posted to fancafé on August 2nd, with no public link on twitter or english translation provided, as is customary for any important notices they have made on fancafé, both before and after the statement. - 8D has avoided ever publicly acknowledging Love’s departure - Immediately breaking Love off from communication with fans - No letter written from Love or any explanation at all beyond “amicable conclusion” and “it is a personal matter, so don’t speculate” - Not allowing other members to talk about Love or the situation - Not answering calls when the announcement first came up, only to later answer with a (likely scripted) response saying that the 8D Entertainment phone number cannot take any calls regarding OnlyOneOf, nor is there any station to direct them to for these questions (despite OnlyOneOf being their only group). They asked fans to email instead. - Fans began emailing the company and even had a whole email project where many fans sent emails based off of an email template requesting clarification regarding Love’s departure. - Later, fans discovered that the OnlyOneOf email address has marked the word ‘Love’ as a sensitive term, meaning that any emails including this word would be sent to spam and thus would not be read. Here’s some other things that may be worth knowing as well. - Mill was put on hiatus late 2020, with a statement released that he was put on indefinite suspension so he could reflect after having broken an unspecified team rule. Immediately after this statement, there was a daily live schedule posted for all the other members. During this hiatus period, other members were not allowed to mention him and lives would get taken down if they said his name. When he returned he suddenly had his head shaved. - The CEO of 8D, Park Jiwon, went private on his instagram account after the statement was released - Park Jiwon went on vacation in mid August, which was revealed by the dates on vacation photos he posted to his Instagram account. He liked every comment on his posts except ones that mentioned Love. - There was a fanmeet scheduled during the produced by [myself] era in mid-July which got postponed, and there has been no follow-up statement or refund in the month since Love’s departure statement was released. - Letters posted on fancafé mentioning his existence get deleted, and the fancafé rules have recently become more strict in some areas, making it so that users will get suspended and demoted faster as well as being at risk for termination after a certain number of demotions. - Journalists who have worked with the group have noted that 8D does not allow articles to be published without the company looking over it, which was noted as something that’s usually not a good sign This isn’t everything but those are some basics. There’s a reason fans are upset with the way this has been handled. Rushing a release after the company has refused to acknowledge the issue for over a month and went into hiding to become completely silent for the majority of August only to emerge at the start of the new month as if nothing ever happened is weird. This is the only group I stan where they are involved in every single process of their music and performances. They are an incredibly talented group of musicians and artists. Each song is very different yet they all have that OOO sensuality and dreamlike quality to them. They stick with you-in your heart and soul-and make you feel something physically each time you hear it whether it be butterflies from longing or desire to the stomach or heart "ache" of sadness or love.
