Born in Yiban, a city in the Chinese province of Szechuan, Chen Kenmin emigrated to Yokohoma, Japan and opened his own Chinese restaurant in Tokyo, Shisen Hanten, where he introduced Szechuan-style Chinese cuisine to the Japanese diners, gourmets and food critics.

I can confirm. I live next to China Town in Yokohama and I have went to Chen Kenichi's restaurant numerous times already (which you can also find in Yokohama) and can never forget how great the mapo tofu was.
