They are mixed race because of the interbreeding between ethnicity (fulani, songhai, Moors, Arabs etc) The Malian Sahel is a large crossroads of population. In kidal they are relatively light skin in general but in the south of Sahel they are all mixed in Gao or Timbuktu with other ethnic groups
