Anyone notice Matt's facial expressions?? He said Micheal's acting was so funny he was literally biting his lips to keep from laughing. The director liked it because it made Scott look younger and unsure of himself

I lived in Indianapolis circa 1975 when Liberace was in town playing at the Starlight outdoor theatre. Young and 21 at the time, an nice old man(about my age now) at a gay bar gave me a free front row ticket for the show. It was a beautiful star-kissed night. I sat alone in the middle of the front row (the best seat in the house) surrounded by older women dressed to the nines. I remember Liberace introducing Scott Thorson and driving the Rolls on stage, and thinking what a gorgeous blonde boy. I also remember looking at the Rolls and all of the jewelry, and thinking how poor I was, and wondering what it would be like to live like that. I play piano and I loved Liberace's piano playing. It was a great show. Lee threw his handkerchief to me, and I was embarrassed. So, I threw it back up in the air, only to see silly women fighting over it. It was funny. Talk at the gay bar(JD The Ruins) the night before, was that there was a private gay party after the show. I don't remember if I was invited or not, but I did not go. It seemed all the gay men knew Liberace was gay, just like all the gay men knew Rock Hudson was gay, when I moved to LA a few years later. I'll never forget seeing Liberace's show, and am so thankful I got to go. Now that I'm older (61), no one offers me free tickets anymore, but that's OK. I question parts of Scott Thorson's story, but it could all be true. After living in LA and mingling with celebrities, I know most of them do weird and bad things, including drugs, and are very self-centered with super egos. I cannot help but feel sorry for Scott Thorson. I wish him well.

The reason you have no sympathy for Scott is because Scott was played by a 45 year old actor (Matt Damon)..... Scott was only 16 when he started a sexual relationship with Liberace and if they got a real 16 year old to play the role you would feel differently..... Scott was absolutely a victim he was with a guy 45 years older than him and Scott was an orphan so he was vulnerable......... A kid would be in awe of someone like Liberace plus the way Liberace ditched Scott was disturbing he treated Scott like trash and made him a junkie plus that surgery ruined his face for life.... Liberace was having sex with kids when he had aids

My Review: I liked the lights, setting, liberace's house, Matt Damon played the role amazingly, but Michael Douglas croaky voice was disturbing, he looked like he had aids from the start of the film (1977), Michael Douglas looked too old and weathered at liberace's healthy age mid to late 50's scenes, and i realized that this movie is based around Scott Thorson not Liberace so we don't really get to see who Liberace really was as a person which i was hoping to get from this movie, but all in all i think it was OK, 5.5/10

Hollywood and most movies are horrible; however, this one is good. Out of the era of Liberace came tormenting ramifications and developments for Hunter’s gonzo journalism and revelations on moral grounds of deceptive social class differences, politics and wealth in the American Dream. I very much prefer Hunter S. Thompson’s perspective of Vegas.
