Sergio was one of the drivers selected to meet fans and sign autographs at one of the COTA race in Austin, TX. After time was up to sign autographs, Sergio noticed there were still hundreds of fans that didn't get to meet him. Sergio promptly jumped off the stage and had a stash of his pictures and began to autograph and hand them out. I was fortunate to have been handed one of those autographed pictures.

I often think what makes a racing driver truly the best is how they treat their fans. Drivers like Checo, Lando, Riccardo... they all make the sport fun to watch not just because of the midfield battles we get, but they genuinely enjoy their fans. When was the last time Hamilton showed compassion for his fans outside of "we have great fans," last I checked, he hasn't done much with his fans. You can shit on me all you want for thinking that a personality means nothing in racing, but you have to remember that F1 is much more of a team sport. If a driver can't respect their own team or the people that support them, they don't deserve to be in the sport.

You are absolutely correct. My nephew was working at a fancy restaurant in Austin, TX while he was attending the University of Texas. He told me, Lewis went to that restaurant each year during the race weekend and would only pay a 15% tip and not a cent more. My nephew also made the observation, Lewis was rude and arrogant.

Really glad that Sergio signed for Red Bull. He seems like the kind of guy that doesn't take anything for granted and will give it his all for the team. The fact that he used some of his own money to keep his previous employer afloat says it all really. Really hope it goes well for him.

Yeah Force India was going through this crisis that nearly left them out of F1, the only chance they got in that moment was to get some money from any source. Then Checo who was truly interested on the workers(and obviously on having a seat the next year) had some talks with the workers and he promised that he would try to convince some companies to invest so they could save Force India, and that's what happened. Checo has said that it's probably his best memory on F1, to save all those jobs and the team, because he says that force India, now racing point and Aston, have always been a team of pure racers, maybe they didn't got the best infrastructure but he says he always enjoyed the love of the workers for racing.

When he joined McLaren, he showed a side i found distasteful; but then he was young and McLaren at the time were horrible behind the scenes. This past race season I finally gave F1 a chance and was trying to find a driver to root for. About half through the season I focused in on Sergio and by the end of the season I'm a full fledged fan of his. I'm excited that he's found a home at Red Bull. I'm looking forward to watching him at COTA this year

@@luiscarriles477 I mean, realistically, I don't think Norris is at the same level as Perez and Carlos is in a Ferrari, not the greatest car to be in and it's his first year. His only real competition is Daniel, Bottas and Leclerc and maybe Max and Lewis but those two are in a league of their own.
