I was really worried about Nigeria's speed but they seemed to have burnt out a bit after their first two games. They had also picked up some cards, and picked up four more yellows trying to thwart American attacks in this game, resulting in an ejection with about 20 minutes left. Even before, the U.S. had much better possession, and Nigeria could manage a total of only 2 shots on goal. Ellis played Abby a complete game but she did score a good goal while Alex and Syd were worthless. I thought JJ showed some inexperience here by almost incurring a penalty and having her goal called back for being offside. The rest of the defense was solid.
