Once again, impressed with Coach Kilgore. Cannot be an easy situation. She seems to be giving the players their ownership of constructing the most competitive team by encouraging open lines of communication when things need tweeked or not working.

Players that NEED to start tonight are Girma, Shaw, Lavelle and Sonnett. I also think Krueger should start at RB because Linda Caicedo is so dangerous on the left wing and I believe Krueger is one of the best 1v1 defenders in the world. To round out the back line I would put Davidson next to Girma and put Nighswonger at LB. I would choose Korbin Albert to start in the midfield with Rose and Sonnett but I’m sure it’ll be Horan instead. Shaw on the right wing, Smith up top (hoping to see more from her tonight), and Lynn Williams on the left. We’ll need Lynn defensively tonight and I think her and Nighswonger on the left side could be magical since they play club together in the same positions. I would love to see Crystal Dunn start in the midfield over Horan or Albert as well. A double 6 of sonnett and Dunn with rose in front of them could be nice. Maybe Horan up top as a target forward? That would be interesting… good luck to the girls tonight!!!!!

not sonnett. I agree with every thing you said but just sub out the two times you said sonnett for Coffey and we are cooking. I agree that Lynn and Rose should start but if they arent doing well by 55' they have to be subbed for Moultrie and Purce

@@julianpeavy303 I do like Coffey but Sonnett is much faster than her. I think Sonnett would do a better job of tracking back on defense against this Colombian side

So do you think since we didn't see any of Girma vs. Mexico that there is some injury concern with her? Lord knows her legs will be carrying us into Paris and then next WC. Totally agree with you re: Krueger. Which side is Fox's strength?

@@c.gibson6349 I was nervous that there was some injury concern for Girma. However I think Twila would’ve maybe mentioned that in the postgame press conference. Fingers crossed she’s healthy. I would’ve paired her with each of the other centerbacks for the first three games just to see who she’s most comfortable with. I really like Fox too, she’s becoming one of the better outside backs in the world. She plays both sides really well. I’ve noticed that when she’s a RB she pinches centrally into the midfield a lot but I prefer her making an outside run down the sideline. I’ve also noticed that the LB doesn’t have as much freedom to move forward as the RB. I wouldn’t mind her on the left side either, she’s a good defender and I think she works well with Rodman and had a great partnership with Swanson before she was injured. So I guess in short, I’d prefer her on the left especially bc Rodman and Swanson both play on the left quite a bit.
