Just re-read His Dark Materials trilogy. It gets better the more one reads it. Thank you for this interview & a chance to hear the greatest living writer speak.

What an absolutely lovely chap. I have tattoos of the Knife and the Spyglass and it's great to see, that the man who forged these fantasies, that are such a big part of my imagination, is such a likeable person. Thank you so much for the video, greatly enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for this interview. I could listen to him for hours. Does anyone know what the book on story motifs he mentioned at the beginning of the video is?

Absolutely love these intimate moments with Philip! Wish he didn’t narrated all of his books; it’s such a pleasure listening to his voice.

My favorite author, but I don't understand his dislike of fantasy as a genre. I understand being interested in realistic fiction and wanting to write it, but if fantasy is the genre you're writing realistically in, you're writing fantasy.

Is the collection he’s talking about at the beginning the Motif-Index of Folk-Literature?
