In his case I would advise you to avoid small invisible hearing aids. Please go for BTE or RIC hearing aids.

I acquired rechargable behind the ears hearing aids for Rs ninty five thousands of well known brand from Aanvee out let. These hearing aids turned out to be of no use, I cannot interact properly rather it caused confusion and headache nor I could listen to TV. These hearing aids are discarded for now and I feel better without them. My fault is that I paid for it without trial and testing ,now struggling and hoping that after reprogoramming it will be better experience. My advice is that never shell out money without trying for several days and pay them in installment. Hearing aids are no where near the natural ability.

They are the same, RIC - Reciever in canal, RIE - Reciever in ear. Both are the names of same kind of hearing aids.
