It's amazing to watch Tanner's/Robby's gymnastic moves, like backflips and flying kicks. Even if some special effects and/or stunt doubles are occasionally used in the filming and editing process (?), it's quite evident that the young man has probably been taking gymnastics since boyhood. He's THAT effortlessly athletic!

Robby's martial arts is delightful to watch. It's complex, almost a perfect mix of defense and attack, and very acrobatic. And there's also a sense of calculation, which I think is unique among the fighters. He thinks very fast before launching or counter attack. Which is as impressive as moves based on instinct.

I really can’t help but appreciate Tanner’s performance. He’s one of the main reasons why Robby stands out as my favorite character. Not only is he exceptionally well-written, but his character arcs are among the best in the series. Robby represents a refreshing take on a new character, distinct from the typical Daniel or Miguel archetype we often see in protagonists. While I admire Daniel and the others, Robby's journey-from a troubled youth to venturing his way through self-discovery and personal growth-is truly compelling. As someone with a background in Karate since childhood, I find his talent particularly inspiring. It’s clear the creators recognized Tanner’s talent and crafted Robby to be a skilled fighter without putting Tanner’s effort to waste to dismiss Robby’s potential. Despite some underestimating Robby as a fighter, the writers clearly do not.

Robby is by far my favorite character on the show. His arc is so interesting, and his fight scenes just radiate power and energy. The son of Johnny Lawrence and the protege of Daniel LaRusso, it was so important that he feel like the best natural fighter in the cast, and he pulled it off big time. Not to mention he nails all his dramatic scenes, I could write a thesis on Robby's journey in this series. Tanner has brought Robby to life so well, what a talented young actor. He definitely gives off action star vibes, I hope he continues to train and get more and more roles, he's got a very bright future ahead of him. Here's to Robby finally taking it home and winning the Sekei Taikai! 👊

Robby is the only teen who has done the handstand kick, who has fought two senseis, fought along with a sensei, been trained by the most number of senseis, beaten all of CK alone, taught CK moves, been in most fights, won most fights, had most 1 vs. many fights, shown mentorship to two kids, had his birth date mentioned directly, shown doing weight lifting, been very close to both of the two main characters (Johnny and Daniel), had been personally asked by two senseis to learn their ways, and entered the AVT in S1 unaffiliated. Also, he has interactions with all of the major character. Everybody talks about him, whether in Miyagi-Fang or in Cobra Kai. He's the only person to have one-on-one conversations with all four Larussos. Also, his decision to go to Larusso and Kreese's coming were the storylines that gave them the feeling of a real show. Not to mention the writers never showed him inferior to Miguel and Hawk (by giving him an injured arm and a distraction with the camera focusing on Kenny for a moment) and literally telling us that both fights could go either way twice in the show.

The reason why some prefer Robby to Miguel is simply that he is more mature about life. He's had better growth and has more serious priorities. Furthermore, Miguel looks plain awkward when fighting, whereas Robby has an appealing fighting style. I genuinely hope he finally gets his 'tournament' moment and wins.

Tanner is tiny, can barely bench his own weight and he's slow and stiff. His physique isn't even that good and Tanner admitted he has bad cardio. He lost to Jacob irl lol and Jacob admitted Peyton could beat himself irl, Peyton pinned Xolo and made him shout "damn your strong", Tanner is just overrated, anyone trained in kickboxing, wrestling, boxing or bjj etc would obliterate him, so many women are stronger than him too cause Jacob beat him at wrestling even do he appears slimmer big L for Tanner.
