Always great to get to know him a little better and background! Amazing fingerstyle player that we all love. Never studied with him, but had the honor to play a few impromptu tunes on bass with him at a Fur Peace Ranch guitar summit where his students raved about his teaching as much as his playing. His performance there was amazing too! Woody!

Woody was a founding member of International Guitar Seminars @ Columbia Univ. NYC. Whispers throughout the seminars recognized that Woody was the inspiration for the Movie CrossRoads (Karate Kid Movie) it was Rev. Gary Davis not Robert Johnson. Creative artistic license changed the musicians. bk

Woody is the mann! I saw him in concert in the West End Centre, Guildford (UK) some years ago - an absolutely stunning evening - and then, a couple of years ago, he presented his film "Harlem Street Singer" in Shoreham (UK). Also a great evening. Thanks for the film.
