You talk a lot about the ships in port, but there is almost never a time in port that there is not a pilot on board. The pilot knows the local conditions and is in command of the tugs and has a great deal of command of the ship when moving in or out of the port. Then the video is purported to be ships in port, yet you talk about losing containers which MOSTLY occur at sea The portion about the works to improve container stability and prevention of loss was interesting.

Very interesting information. I have ideas to reduce container loss, but prohibitively expensive solutions are most often rejected. 😃

Your list of the ingredients of successful global shipping industry: 1) efficient port operations, 2) advanced technology, and 3) the hardworking crews aboard container ships leaves out a couple of key items: 1) global economic demand for shipping services for international trade, and 2) well-run and profitable shipping companies.
