In Part 6, Sevan Matossian catches Tony Blauer of Blauer Tactical Systems and John Hackleman of The Pit hanging out with the athletes.
After Event 6, The Killer Kage, Matt Chan is fired up.
“I needed something to click for me, and that was it,” he says. “It’s just a shame it’s taken me so long to get my damn switch flipped. But I’m ready now, man. Let’s do this. Let’s do tomorrow.”
In the women’s half of the event, Annie Thorisdottir takes the lead again and says she had to make up ground after a disappointing finish in the second skills test. Thorisdottir says that over the past year she has been consciously trying to improve her mental game, especially after a workout.
“I always have a positive attitude while I’m doing the workout,” she says. However, she admits, “I’m never completely happy with anything until when I’ve thought really a lot about it.”
She says a key component to her strategy is the support of her coaches.
Announcer and world-champion arm wrestler Travis Bagent says he’s enjoying himself.
“In the guys’ final, I had a little bit of hair standing up on the back of my neck. The energy was just crazy in here,” he says. “I’m learning just like everyone else. I just get a tremendous seat to watch it.”
