I think the aesthetic that most sums up this show is "Retrofuturism", only it's utilized an era that isn't visited often in that aesthetic - the 1970s. Most retrofuturism is kind of steampunk in nature and at most lean towards art deco, streamline moderne, and atomic age/googie. But the 1970s had a very particular view of the future being very clean, sterile and minimalist. That's what we see with the Empire, and Coruscant in general. This is contrasted to the reality of the 1970s mainstream aesthetic which was very earthy, with colors like harvest gold and "coppertone" brown, and softer textures like quilted or puffy fabrics. That's what we see on Ferrix. This is the futurism that was considered when the original Star Wars was created, which to me makes Andor the most "Star Wars" feeling of any of the modern media. Also, #ChefsKiss for incorporating brutalism on Coruscant. Nothing says 1960s/1970s modernism like brutalism. Really i just found myself obsessed with the production design of this show. It felt so familiar yet so new at the same time.

Thanks for putting this together and the edits for viewing. Having this additional information is great and listening to these talented people get excited for their part in this and describing their experience was wonderful. It's hard to narrow down one story, it's all interesting. All these people are very talented and their stories are worthwhile to hear. I wasn't aware some of the crew worked on the Chernobyl disaster series. Makes me want to view that now.

After seeing the other Star Wars shows, it is wild to see how much effort and care really shows itself on screen in Andor. The writing and directing are exceptional, but it is so damn jarring to see a character like Mon Mothma now show up in Ahsoka in a costume that looks like she bought it from a Spirit Halloween
