Can’t say enough about how exciting this is to me. I’ve lived in Oregon for 3 decades and this man just has “it”. And I love the entire family’s excitement here. They’re going to love the culture and passion at MSU. It’s a professional and friendly and sincere environment. Can’t wait for the MSU-Oregon game already! 👍

You can call me a baby for this but seeing Coach Smith walk out on to that field with his family and take it all in with the light snowfall and snow covered field brought tears to my eyes. What a year those guys went through last year and to flip the page, finally, is truly a blessing. Welcome home, coach.

Read up on what? He spent the last weeks of the season lying to the press, lying to the fans, and lying to the University about the future of the Beavers, and on Saturday morning after a loss of the one game we need to win every year… because he poisoned the team with his inside information killing morale didn’t coach for s..t because everyone thought he was a traitor. And then fleeing town. We lost three games this year that we should have won. Probably because he was doing his extensive search rather than what he should have been doing, his f’ing job. So I should feel better about it because he did an extensive search? That makes it so much better. I have never cheered for Oregon in all of my life, but now I will cheer for them and Michigan to smash your team every year.

“No Egos”. “Team sport”. “Family and Community”. It all sounds good. I’m just wondering how that all works in this age of NIL, when you have to pay a QB $2million+ just to keep him on campus, and parents who think their son is worth a 7-figure NIL payout, but you won’t even start him. 🤔

From an Oregon State alum, I have never seen Smith this nervous in the past six years at OSU. It just seems odd. As a biologist who has created habitats across North America, I'd watch Smith's family over the next couple years. It is not easy to go from a setting that is sandwiched between the beautiful oceans and mountains of Oregon over to the flats of the midwest. It has had a negative influence on my mental state when I have had to work in very flat areas even for a couple weeks. If the family isn't happy, the coach will be unsettled. Smith has already proved he will always be looking for more money.
@moappleseider169911 ай бұрын
You liars are just coming out of the woodwork lol. Apparently your majesty has never "created a habitat" (what a load of bullshit) in Michigan because if you had, you would be very well aware that the state of Michigan is in fact, not flat at all, and we have thousands of lakes. So many rolling hills, and "sandwhiched" between some of the biggest lakes in the world that might as well be oceans lol.

Michigan is anything but flat with 2x the coastline of Oregon. You're thinking of Illinois, Ohio, Iowa etc..

Oregon State fan here and…well, enjoy him while you can. When greener pastures present themselves you can expect him to be gone like a shot. Could he turn things around at MSU? It’s possible. He did it for the Beavs and I do have some gratitude for that but the way he left really hangs a big asterisk on his legacy IMO. Anyway, enjoy it, but don’t be surprised if he screws you a few years down the road.

As a Beaver alumni and fan you hired a solid HC. He is a good human being and will not embarass MSU. Don't expect dramatic results. People forget the OSU program was top 25 consistently before Mike Riley left. He follwed a 3 year sh-t show named Anderson at OSU who ran the OSU program into the ground. Not a great recruiter, doesn't develop QB's and not particulatly Innovative on offesnse Craig Bray came in as D-Coordinator and saved his job. You should be consisttenly 6-6 to 8-4. Not bad but not in the playoffs. He will not pull the California and Hawian players he was able to pull to Oregon.
@averypaul370011 ай бұрын
I'm glad to hear it. It's been a rough couple of years, since Dantonio left, tucker was absolutely terrible, and Harlon Barnett was put in a bad situation. 6-6 to 8-4 is a better improvement that 5-7 and 4-8.
@wallacemackay756210 ай бұрын
Never underestimate a winner. They beat the ducks last year. They win even when people expect them to lose. As a quartback, he took his team of his final year and beat up Notre Dame. He knows what he's doing. He's climbing the ladder with most of the stack intact.
