You should do another of those long flight videos like you did with the flight to the Grand Canyon.

I don't understand why these to brands that have oligopoly in the GA engines don't come with a system kind of fadec that controls Automatically the management of the engine for what concerns temperature mixture etc.

DISCLAIMER - I'm a biased PA-46-310P owner. As an owner of one of those early model Malibu's, I take issue with your statement early in the video about the Continental engine. The accident reports show it wasn't the engine that was the problem. As for the switch to Lycoming in '89, that had nothing to do with the performance or safety record of the Continental engine. And given a few drinks even the folks at Vero will quietly admit they wish they could go back. On a second note, going to full flaps before breaking out of IMC on an ILS spells danger and should be avoided.

Being a biased 310P owner myself, I have to second that ^^ Something that bothers me though is that from time to time you meet people that think flying the Continental engine 50° ROP is a good idea, too - as long as temperatures are adequate. I am not really sure what to say. It is not according to the POH but they are somewhat right that the engine runs even smoother before going LOP. The airplane goes faster than LOP which means we obviously are flying with more than 75% power. What do you think? Also some people say with cruise climb power FULL rich is not necessary - although the POH says full rich. I don't really know if going from 35 gph to 30 or even 25 as I was told is a good idea. I guess the question is what kind of temperatures are tolerable.

Richtig gutes Video, Johann!

wow this plane with recip engine really has a low cruise speed, needs something with at least another 100 horses without going to turbine.
