I look forward to watching this - it really feels like technology and motorsport together in at the deep end which is what I want to see in motorsports.

If the goal of Extreme H is the same as Extreme E, to advance the adoption of clean transportation, then this makes no sense at all. Hydrogen as a fuel for road cars is a non-starter. It takes too much energy to produce, compress and store, and is very inefficient. Most of the world's hydrogen comes from fossil fuels, and batteries make much more sense as a storage medium for renewables. There is a reason why Toyota is being sued by Mirai owners who can't find working hydrogen stations and when they do it is extremely expensive.

Toyota is being sued because people just like to sue people. Take a look at Laguna Seca. The car isn't the problem. It's the resistance to new technology that is. There's no reason to be so hellbent on tearing down innovation.

We believe we need a multi-strand approach to e-mobility. Electric solutions are alive and well and will continue to grow. Hydrogen is a key pillar for the future of the automotive industry and a natural evolution of our mission to showcase the possibilities of new technologies. We have a unique opportunity to act as the catalyst to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen. Hydrogen’s role in the energy transition will have a significant role in reaching net zero, as we reduce our historical reliance on fossil fuels and look to green alternatives. As a championship, Extreme H can take hydrogen to the next level and be that platform for energy companies to test and develop. These are extreme locations we are racing in and, if we can do it successfully there, hydrogen solutions can be developed and utilised anywhere.

Well done looking forward to this. Hydrogen is way better technology than full on battery power I hope through this it gets better and eventually implemented into road cars. Don’t mind hybrid eg. charges through braking etc not plug in full battery powered. So hydrogen hybrid sounds a good one

You couldn't be more wrong. What a scam!

You might want to look into that a little. Hydrogen as a fuel for road cars makes no sense at all. The Toyota Mirai is a great car, but owners can't find working fueling stations and the cost is 2-3 times more than gasoline which is 10-20 times more than charging at home in a BEV. Google Toyota Mirai class action law suit.

Hydrogen is already dead in road cars, BEVs have won. What a waste to do a step back 😢

@@ExtremeELive green hydrogen for sure will help, will have positive impact on environment. Air and heavy transportation probably, industry. I’m only sceptic about its future in passenger cars. Motorsport always have been at the forefront, inventing tech everyone later used in daily drivers. It’s not the case with hydrogen. Most car companies dropped development of hydrogen tech, energy companies are closing hydrogen stations. Tanks are so huge that there’s barely any place left for passengers and baggage. Last but not least driving on hydrogen is way more expensive than driving a BEV. That’s why I think it’s a move in the wrong direction. Anyway, I hope it’ll still be a fun to watch!

Do you really think that car manufacturers and shareholders would spend millions on hydrogen if wasn’t a viable alternative
