De Jong is living everyone's dream. His life has been a rollercoaster the past year. From being injured and not playing a lot at the beginning of last season at Ajax, to debuting with the national team and moving to Barca. On top of that he just won the best midfielder award and traveled with the greatest player ever in a private jet. It's really ridiculous when you think about it.

Dont forget! From playing uefa league final, champions league last 4, winning the eredivisie, Final of the nations league and all at only 22 years old and every team he got in to he gave them a REAL boost. Even Wijnaldum told in the media that since Frenkie started playing in the Dutch squad it was so much easier for him to play with de Jong next to him and it really made a difference. Once de Jong gets settled and comfortable in the barca squad he will be amazing.

KingCalv 10 the award is supposed to be an individual award for the best player of the season. & that was Messi statistically. VVD was without a doubt the best defender but that’s why they have the defenders award. They’ve given him the award because Liverpool won the UCL. That means that no matter how good you play throughout the season, if your team doesnt win the UCL, you can never win the award...

It's diffucult for Frenkie de Jong to connect with Messi. You see there is a language barrier that prevent them to interract with each other. If Frenkie wants to succeed within Barca he needs to get up his spanisch as quickly as possible. Messi and the other players speak spanisch fluently therefore have a better connection off field and automatically on field. They respect the player that Frenkie is but right now hé is just individual. He needs to be the part of the team!
