Everything lacks character and follow a mainstream production framework. You have all sorts of fatalities, but no matter how gory, they manange the extrardinary feat of making them all zero poignant. The music also sucks. MK3 gives you shivers. It's akin to Slipknot composition stlye, it sounds very violent and creepy. Just the selection screen goals immensely. You can't compete with 90's edginess, colors, attitudes and overall vibe at the time that made MK3 possible. I feel MK11 is kind of purposefully watered down not to be shocking while contain what should normally. Point is, you can give people the best ingredients, but if you don't have a genius cook, James Cameron-level, you're gonna make very un-engaging stuff.
