is easy now say that the game weren't so good... but at the time these feelings in the video were genuine... of course that games such as Tekken 3 were far better... but people and kids like myself at the time really enjoyed MK4... the best MK songs came from this game too... has quite flaws due the engine limitations but looking now the MK XL (MK4 rebooted) these flaws still remain added now to lack of creativity...

Although MK Trilogy is my all time favorite version MK4 for Playstation was a really great game for it's time and still fun to play now. For 1998 the design and gameplay were cutting edge.

I love Mortal Kombat 4. I love the fact all the combos were shared between characters but it was also pretty crappy because the only difference between them were their appearances and special moves. It wasnt a very advanced MK title they basically used 3d models instead of photorealistic sprites and dumbed down the combo system. Its accessible though and that's what drew me to MK from the beginning.

I'm happy to see so many MK4 lovers in the comments. Although I believe MKX and 9 are peak MK, and the original trilogy is a true treasure, MK4 truly got me into the franchise back in the day. Graphics were not the best, but still impressed me. Music was AWESOME! It never reached that height of craziness and memorable sound. And, man, let's remember this is STILL the only MK with true FMV endings for each character. Sad Gold never got a PC release! Also: Do you remember bighead mode and all those other fun secrets?

I remember when I first saw MK4 arcade... I couldnt believe what i was seeing. Really. Looked all around the cabinet if it was a real. Is this really MK4 i asked myself.. it must be a fake or some kind of joke.....I just couldnt believe what they´ve done.The real actors, awesome fatalities, realistic graphics, the obscure atmosphere, fatality stages, the hidden characters, all that was good in MK... all gone. Instead whe had a mediocre 3D fighting game. I guess becuase everybody was doin 3d at the time... but this... this killed Mortal Kombat.

I played a lot of MK4 back when i was in the school. We with friends were going to computer club every time after school, and we played MK4 until that club closes. And yes it was after i played 2D MK games. For now i liked every MK game that i played. From MK1 to MK9, except MK Special Forces, Mythologies, Shaolin Monks, Vs DC and MKX. Cause i didn't played Shaolin Monks, vs DC and MKX yet, and Special Forces with Mythologies are broken af.

This game was way better and more daring than MKX ever will be. I didnt like it as much as the other 3, even at the time, but its grown on me over the years and should have been a better base for the sequel to MK9. On a side not, wow go to the end and check out that Sonya. Shes dead on and never breaks character.
