My great grandfather and my grandmother were Cristeros. They lived in San Julian Jalisco. My great grandfather was actually caught, hung and left for dead, but the soldiers left before they verified he was actually dead. Locals found him still kicking and cut him down. He survived. His name was Benito Villalpando from San Julian Jalisco. I am proud to tell my family's story when I can!

My abuilito was a Cristero. He was killed when my dad was 5 months old. To this day, we don't know where he's buried, only the town. In his hometown of Atenguillo, Jal there's a small museum.

I am not a Mexican nor Spaniard; in fact, I am (proudly) Polish. As such, we are Catholic's who've experienced our own trials and tribulation's with a government that sought to undermine, if not outright eradicate, our shared faith. But just like the Cristero's of yesteryear, we loudly proclaimed "My chcemy Boga / We want God!", which is ironic (perhaps not) that we chanted very similar things in somewhat similar situations. It just goes to show you, regardless of time; location's; etc. every government wants the same thing and, given proper tools, will resort to the same ends.

My grand mother was Cristera I'm profundly proud , she was wearing like men to hide from the Army along some priests ,nuns and civilians that supported the movement. She was a teenager a that time. When I was a teenager I was playing basketball and spending time in school or friends . Sometimes we don't understand what our ancestors had to do and we are here to to their efforts and sacrifices. My grandpa was 15, when he went through this in Mexico. I knew about this, because my Dad told me. My great-grandparents fought and protected their kids who were to Young to Fight. After this, they came to America. I know it's going to come here, it's written in Revelation (KJB). It's sad that the human race doesn't want to learn from history and past mistakes. Thank God he still loves us, inspite of ourselves. John 3:16. My favorite verse is Joshua 1:9. God is with us wherever we go.

Hello Lisa, I just found out about this movie and my grandma told me her grandfathers brother was a general who fought in the Mexican revolution against the government who tried take their lands. My grandfather and his brother who were 14 and 13 years old at that time were plowing there fathers field. A government army was passing by and pressed them to service. His brother and him were not heard of four 2 years till they were released. We did not know about this till he passed away. My aunt then told us it. He was ashamed of what he did, but wanted his story told

The new Philippine President Duterte could bring this down on the Catholic Church in that country. I'm sure the people of the Philippines would also take up arms to defend their Faith. They took to the streets armed with Rosaries on 2/25/86, and the Virgin showed up and protected the people from Marcos. The military joined the people and turned against Marcos. The rest is history.

I learned of this film tonight listening to Father James Altman on the Fatima KZbin channel. I think every person needs to listen to not only him but this documentary on Mexico and the Catholic faith. Here in America we are almost at this state. We sadly have have Bishops today silencing their priests who are preaching from the bible and are being cast away taking their churches and not being able to even perform mass or any religious activities that include church doctrine. Its so sad these so called religious bishops are following the devil and furthering his evil instead of Preaching Gods holy words from the Bible. You bishops should get down on your knees and ask for Gods forgiveness. I thought that what priests were supposed to do and to devote their lives to doing Gods word and works. I converted to Catholicism believing the church was teaching and preaching Gods true Word and being the example for us to live by 🙏 in Jesus name I'll pray for you to come to know what you are doing is wrong and that you're pleasing the devil, the American gov.that's in control right now and the evil of man.God Bless the Knights of Columbus and Father James Altman for bringing this story to our attention🙏 †

Forgotten from the books of history ? My father was born in 1914 and became the oldest of 9 because of Presidente "Adolfo' Calles. My bros and I didn't go a week without hearing about hoe he got as far as the 2nd grade. One time coming home from El Centro on a donkey after dark after being warned "be careful coming home". No flashlights he feels something brush up against his forehead knocking his sombero off. Thinking it was a low branch he glances up to make out a deadman hanging from a tree with his tounge out past his chin. That donkey could of won the kentucky derby . Poor father, he must of been around 9 and that episode fcked with him for weeks ,guns going off,praying in secret and that mans face embedded in your dreams every night at 9 ? Thank You
