The early 2000s had a more 90s vibe to it still, and felt more urban and undergroundish. Having a cellphone, going to the video store after skating, playing tony hawk. Remember going to the skatepark with my dad and brother back in the early 2000s. Loved it.

I can see some differences from the gameplay shown here compared to the final version. * SFX for completing a goal is the one from THUG1. * Prompt for performing a Graffiti Tag is absent from the final. (To my knowledge) * Bam's dialogue at the beginning of Berlin is very different. * Breakable street lamps in Australia are white here. Yellow in the final. * No screen fade after choosing an option on the main menu. * The goal completion pop up appears much earlier for the Barcelona goal "Make Your Own Phoenix". (In the final, it appears after the animation for the bird on fire finishes.)

the button color is different in those goals messages too 3:52 i strongly suggest to check "hidden palace". they have some prototypes and betas for tony hawk and other games ! the cut room floor is also a pretty good site cheers !

Reminds me on PS2 Times. I received Money as a Birthday Gift. On the next Day i bought myself: Thug 2 and SNK vs Capcom. Thug 2 was pure Love for me. I played hours, days, Weeks. Great Game and Memorys. Later they Release a PSP Port of this. But i bought it just 2 years ago. ^^

Tony Hawk was good, they didn't need to be realistic nor should they have tried for you to have fun. Perfect example is THUG Pro. Give that game a Career mode with a yearly update and put it on Xbox Series and Playstation 5 and you've got a winner, ToysForB- I mean TakeTw- Uh... fuck, who made OH VICARIOUS VISIONS YEAH sorry I didn't want to backspace all that and act like I couldn't think of their name for a sec. They did an amazing job with Pro Skater 1 + 2. Hopefully we'll get Underground 1 + 2 realistically speaking or 3 + 4. Just gotta have more Hawk.

AW wasnt that bad. I think the Franchise real final Nail in the Coffin was Project 8. And the "Skate" series crushed the rest of THPS. Then Neversoft were closed after the Proving Ground Desaster. Terrible Times Robomodo created Shred, Ride, THPS HD and THPS5 all of them terrible Failures not even worth the Name.

@@AyaneOfDeath Ayane's right (love that character btw, Dead or Alive is amazing) American Wasteland might as well have been Underground 3 with a different name, like Underground was basically Pro Skater 5 before Pro Skater 5 was actually it's own game (don't you just wish). It started going downhill with Project 8 and Proving Ground's less than stellar story modes I think, and of course after Neversoft left the franchise it just sank like the Titanic (RIP)
