Crazy, very meticulous, always wondered how teams are able to keep the fields in good condition and paint the logos, etc. Interesting stuff. Salute to the Phillies ground crew and the crews everywhere.

My dad can officially say he knows about five of these guys; he works with them this year as part of the grounds crew!

Wow amazing, I remember being a bat boy in Asheville N.C. a couch told he liked the conditions at the parks to be as horrible as they can be. So the players would want to play harder to get to the majors.

Does anyone know how to get into this business. I'm really interested.

Angel Delgado I would look at little league fields around your area and see if any ground crews are hiring. It will give you some experience starting out before you jump straight into larger leagues. Iv been doing this a couple months now and I love it.

+Olivia Clark I know here in Texas the Rangers are hiring tarp crew and grounds crew as of January of 2016. So I suspect it's a matter of checking the team's site fore jobs. And see what's available.

You can go to turf school, or apply for part time groundscrews for minor or major league teams and work your way up! Hope you already got into the business though :) we need more people

Watching the Cubs vs Indians worlds series game 7 and was, for some reason, interested how the ground crew threw on the tarp as the rain was coming down. Idk. I guess I'm easily amused.

Does it make me sad that I found that hugely interesting? I had a feeling their job wasn't straightforwad, but that was a lot more work than I expected!

Why don’t they just use pop up sprinklers? Less time consuming
@bigdawgsgottaeat50285 жыл бұрын
Erm yh because the wind can be a huge factor, if it’s windy the sprinklers won’t make an even watering. So hand watering let’s us water it exactly how we want it. But the team I work for we do have sprinklers so after home BP we just turn the sprinklers on for the away team 😂

They do have a sprinkler system but it mostly for the outfield!
