RIP Brain Macloud , he was my first Guitar hero and a genuine musician . I got to do sound for Headpins when they got back together ( original line up ) around 1989 ish . The first thing I did was go ask Brian about his Amp settings and he was the guy the stories were all comprised from . He had Hi Watt 100 watt heads with volume treble and Mids cranked full to ten and the bass turned to zero . That’s how he got that amazing Guitar Sound and the name ‘too LOUd Macloud’ .
@ryancarlisle29312 жыл бұрын
Haha, that is super interesting! Good to know that little story. Its a brave thing to just crank mids and treble without some structured ground. Perhaps he mellowed some of it out with the tone control and volume knobs on the guitar etc, it actually derives an epiphany for me. Thank you.
@markr.devereux33852 жыл бұрын
HiWATT 100s were bassier than MARSHALLS to start with. I had a tube version back in the 80s I wouldn't dare turn it up to 10. My lord it cost $100 to retube which I did a few times.

I thank heaven for this song. Not because I think it is their best, but because it gave them the exposure needed for me to discover this group and listen to their amazing catalog. "Fly At Night" is phenomenal and should be in rotation along side of the customary standards played on classic rock radio by Rush, Heart, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc.

In my public school days our grade 7-8 teacher had our classes go on a early spring survival trip camping in cabins that were not winterized . We did all kinds of survival activities . We had to plan our week of supplies . At the end of our week we had the pleasure of CHILLIWACK playing for us. That was my first concert. It was a great one . Thanks CHILLIWACK.

Yes, Camille. I used to be friends with her in Vancouver. She worked as a composer and lyricist for Nettwork Records during and after her stint with Sarah McLaughlin. Her elder sister, Saffron, has sung background for Paul Rogers (Free & Bad Company) and others. Their mother is a professional photographer. I remember this song and a couple others from Chilliwack with joy. What a fun and vibrant time in the Canadian (Rock/New Wave/Alternative Pop) music industry! A very talented and friendly and aesthetically attractive family, the Hendersons! 😊
