Thanks, Boom 97.3! Behind The Vinyl is sheer perfection. I can't get enough of the episodes that talk about the music of my life. I was a kid in Southern Ontario when Steve, Frankie, Gordie and Nick blew into town to play our local arena. I wrestled for a spot near the front row, and had the time of my life. When I noticed Steve's bass strings were strung opposite to the norm, I knew then I was in the presence of something completely different. The years have since only solidified my respect for Teenage Head! Miss you, Frankie

Steve- I've met a lot of people over my 51 years, but partying backstage at the ElMocambo with you, Frankie and Gordie is one of the highlights of my life. You are also the reason I'm a bass player. So there.

After Frank's death, I think they should have shut down. It wasn't even close with Dave Rave singing. Teenage Head died with Frankie!!!

I'm confused that he named Marky Ramone as the drummer at first, then Nick as the story goes?

Wow, thanks for this great interview. Head never failed to put on a heck of a show. I've seen them play from a hockey arena in Tiverton Ontario to Oshawa Civic and everywhere they played in between. Head music has been blaring out of my speakers for decades and I will always say they're the most under rated rock band Canada made. Thank you Steve and thank you Boom!

@@boom973Toronto He hasn't been referred to as Steve Marshall for DECADES. Every latter-day reference calls him Steve MAHON. Why are they playing the re-recorded version of the song? The original is way better. I like Marky Ramone and all but why put this version on the album?

No click tracks back then? Can that possibly be true? If so, that means all the drummers back then were really, really good. I know dudes like GInger Baker didn't need one, but he is a rhythmic virtuoso. But what about the other banks? Steve, if you read this PLEASE REPLY. Anyways, now we got silent vibrating metronomes for each band member that are synched wirelessly (peterson.com bodybeat).

There were click tracks back then...but they were primarily used in recording sessions for tv commercials and movie soundtracks, where songs had to fit an exact time code to fit the film. They didn’t really become commonly used as a timekeeper until digital recording/editing necessitated exact timing.
