Just about to pick up my 1969 model that has been completely refurbished. Very excited

Just made a trip from Switzerland through France to the Scotish Highlands and back with my Elan +2 130/5, was driving 4000 km without any issue! Well maintained, these cars are truly reliable - and fast. And they consume not much, on average about 8 Liter on 100 km. Great video!

I'm currently thinking of buying one, and just cannot understand why these cars are not commanding 10k-15k more like some of their counterparts. I was thinking of an S130/4 as I heard the 5 speed gearboxes are hard and exspensive to get fixed. Appreciate the 5 speed is more relaxing on A&M roads, Any advice there, or other advice about buying?

Had a 72 Europa twin cam, loved it and miss it to this day. Should never have sold it!😢

I had a Lotus Excel and then an Elise. Innovation everywhere, brilliant cars. And yes, the Excel pop up lights had me giggling like an 8 year old.

Love the Elan +2. Plenty of folks still work at Lotus that either knew the old man or were keenly aware of his legacy and are responsible for the last internal combustion car to be offered by the company…spend some time in the V6 Emira and let us know how it compares and whether you think it pays proper respect to Colin Chapman, even while meeting modern safety and emissions standards. I had a 1973 130/5. Same colour as this Lagoon Blue with metalflake silver roof. A wonderful car but always looked a bit awkward compared to the 'Baby' Elan. The latter is the one that became the collectable one, especially the Sprint version with the 130/5 power train (Austin Maxi 5 speed gear cluster). Build quality was awful though. You had to be a keen type to keep fiddling with it. Once sorted though it was the fastest thing on the country road twisties, nothing could keep up with it. I sold mine because I wanted a bigger car to so I could borrow my parent's caravan. Please don't tell anyone I chose caravanning over a Lotus Elan. I've been on tablets ever since!

Awesome video! Only thing that would have improved is that I would have loved a section without the music and commentary and just hearing that sweet twin cam sing!

I had one brand new in 1973....I liked it but preferred my Lotus Europa John Player Special

My bucket list Lotus is the 23B... I own a '67 Europa S1 and would love an Elan +2!
