After watching this, this is what hit me the hardest, and if it hit you the same, you'll understand. "As an animal; you should be happy just by living; you should be happy just because your family is there. You should be happy because you just ate or drank water; animals celebrate all of that; their family, their life, and their activities. You have seen people not celebrate life for weeks, for months, for years. Because they're waiting for that perfect moment; but that perfect moment is right now."

He is so positive and they were so negative. I relate better to his mindset than theirs for sure. I fired them! I'm here continuing my therapy.

He most definitely had methods that were questionable and he used dominance training which is not ok, but he has certainly improved!
@Galemor13 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he always talk about energy, and that you have to match the energy or go higher. So when he started, he took the most vicious cases, so dogs that would try to kill him, if he had come with a weaker energy, he wouldn't be able to help them. So the intensity of his methods, is actually set by the dog. And when he was bit, he was in a very bad condition, in the middle of the divorce, learning that his show was owned by someone else, and that he didn't own anything than this ranch.. Which was just a rocky piece of land, back then. If you find him working with fearful dogs, he's got a different approach, than when he works with aggressive dogs.. But mostly, he just takes control, and tells the dog it doesn't need to worry anymore.

@@BehindtheBrand I am beginning to realize, he READS THE MINDS OF THE DOGS.......what he's able to do is not 'natural' - there's something beyond the physical going on, inner senses & mind, it's uncanny. @markfuller3 жыл бұрын
@Kellie, I agree. People want to know how to fix a problem. A "thing to do" like teaching a dog to sit. But, it's usually a much larger existence with the dog, lack of leadership in small things. I tell people to binge watch DW season 1. You quickly see how it's almost always the people who need help, not the dog. And, it's usually a lack of leadership (as a full-time job). People think they can overlook little things that signal a dog needs something, but "just fix this one thing I don't like (lunging, possessiveness). They have to absorb more than just a "how to." It's an attitude/energy.

In the 80's, I bought my 1st dog. A dark red brindle, duel registered Pit Bull. I was living at my parent's house at that time. I just turned 18 and was working 2 job's 45 hours a week and attended High School. I maintained a 3.9 GPA, without much effort. My Mom & Nikki got very attached to each other. When I graduated, I bought a used trailer and my Fiance and I moved in and fixed it up. I couldn't break the beautiful bond that my Mom & Nikki had. So, I told my Mom to keep her and we would breed her 1 time only and I would keep a puppy from her litter. She had a litter of 10. He was the 6th puppy out. I cut and tied off his ambilical cord. He was spectacular!! He stood out by leaps and bounds. He was marked like a Boxer. White gloves, up to his knees and white 👢 boots in the back. While he was about 5 weeks old and still with his mother and siblings, he managed to open the crate and all of the puppies ran free! He became quite the escape artist!! He was, without a doubt the Alpha Male. Once I got him home, I held him almost always and let him run around in the yard and play and of course He ate 3x's a day. I wanted to see the intelligence of a dog. First, I taught him all of the basic commands, sit, stay, down, how to walk properly on a leash. How to shake hand's. Then I taught him to smell my Cigarettes, Non- Menthol and my Fiance's Menthol Cigarettes 🚬. I would hide them and say, go get my cigarettes and he'd bring me mine and then I'd say, Meathead, how am I supposed to smoke this and then hed go get ny lighter. I taught him how to answer the phone and either speak into it or bring it to me. My Grandma gave me a Concole TV. It didn't have a remote. So, I tied a shoelace on the pull knob and he already knew the command, " Hold It", so I put the lace in his mouth and pulled his body back and he turned on the TV. It only took 3 tries and he learned it. He knew how to open the fridge and get you a beer or a soda and he knew the difference! Then he'd go back and close it! He could also climb very high tree's! He would run up then grab onto a high branch and shake and then just stay there looking limp. We had a huge pond behind the house and he loved to swim! That is excellent exercise for them and us. He would go under the water and come up with a fish flopping in his mouth!!!! Such a Ham. I ❤ed him soooo much. He was my pride and joy! I thought it was funny at bedtime. He would cuddle up to me, with his bsck to me and would straighten out his legs and tried to push my fiancé out of the bed!😂😂😂 Also, every morning before work, when I was about to get in the shower, I'd say Hookman, let's get a bath. He would take off, running and jumping into the tub. He would stay in there until I got there. I would wet him down and dry him off. Then he put his paws on the sink and I put a splash of Polo on him and I used my Fiance's toothbrush 🪥 to brush his teeth, everyday. This was his normal routine. The neighborhood Children loved him. They always came over to play with him, or walk him or take a ride on his back. They adored him. Everyone who came to visit, Hookman thought they were there to see him. He also would hold lunch meat either on his nose or in his mouth, for a good while, until I said, okay. He was that One dog, that if you're lucky to be blessed with once in a lifetime!!!!! One day, I had a Beautiful, maxed out Toyota Truck, The Blue Force. It came with all of the Chrome push bars, roll bars, chrome everywhere. So, he loved, the Skateboard, the Basketball And the Frisbee, and would go bat shit nuts if he saw any of these things! So we would put a harness on him, hook Hookman up to the push bar and put the truch in Neutral and bounce a basketball in front of him and he would pull that truck all around the entire parking lot. He was an extremely high energy dog!! I had to keep him busy and give him plenty of exercise. We were at the Mars Middle School. After that we decided to walk him around the track. There were Children practicing Soccer in the middle of the track. He was walking fine, until someone kicked the ball. He lost his mind and pulled out of his leash and went running out onto the field and the Parents watched fearing for their Children, and he grabbed that ball and took off running with it. It was hilarious 😂. I offered to pay for the ball but they said no. The Coach asked if he could join the team!! When he took off running, I knew exactly what his intentions were. Such a Ham!!😂. He actually knew a bunch more tricks, but too much to list. He was so animated!! One night we couldn't find him. He could open doors and get out windows. He took off and went all around the entire Trailer Park and stole all of the poor outside dogs toy's and we found them all piled up on the front porch! We were stunned! We had to sneakily go around to all of the outside dogs and distribute each a toy, of course not knowing who's was what. But we made sure everyone got a toy. I was about 20 years old when I got him. He holds the most precious memories 💓 and he will always be with me. I love you Hookman ❤️!!!!!!

The importance of back of the pack member. Long time ago I saw a TV documentary about the back of the pack member of a wolfs pack. The importance of that character was to improve young members confidence and raising processes. I keep watching Cesar Millan interviews from time to time, again and again, many years now.

Humans have those desires too. To know their place, purpose, direction, to be a part of something cooperative and greater. We are inherently pack-oriented too. All these analogies can be applied to families. :)

@@karynhonor5046 i think it's the other way around, at least we started to wear a horrible mask, that doesn't let us show off (whatever is, new lips, new make up, ) how good we look, just to keep safe our family our loved ones, to keep alive and together our pack, on cesar's words for family

@@cochilokodesonora3183 Agreed. Amazing how perspective is the foundation of EVERYTHING. Finding the positive way of perceiving all things in life is so much more wise not to mention HEALTHY. It can make or break you, as well as any experience in life. We don't have to be a product of our environment (negative or positive), it's actually a choice. I believe that if we choose to find the positive in all things, because even though it might not seem like it, it is there. It exists, and endures. Then we can always learn, grow, and utilize it to improve ourselves, and in turn our lives- and those of the people and animals around us. For some, a positive perspective comes much more naturally or easily. But if you choose to work at it, just like anything else it takes practice, then the rewards and benefits far exceed the work it takes to attain a genuinely positive attitude and a healthy and well adjusted mindset and life. And amazingly, when your perspective is positive, being that your perspective is truly the foundation of everything else- then everything else will follow. Growth, understanding, empathy, joy, happiness, calm confidence etc. It's really just a choice. Cesar embodies just how powerful a positive perspective can be. Just beautiful. Good on you Cesar & MUCH respect... You ROCK! 🤘🙏❣

Very interesting interview with Caesar Millan. So glad he came to the US! I don't use tools and my dog just stays nearby. A leash when required in town. He turns and checks how close I am. I always wonder about the relationship when peoples dogs run away. Or when they cower from other people or dogs, or attack them.

Number one be impeccable with your word. Number two I don't assume anything. Number three don't take anything personally. Always do your best number four. That's how you connect to other human beings in love and love yourself. If you could just do the one rule and not take anything personally it will transform your life.

Wow your words are so wise..live in the moment those words gave me a whole different meaning to my life..I tend to live in the past when my husband was alive he died suddenly and I am always stressing about the future,not for myself so much but everything else and that makes life so stressful..so today I choose to live in the moment..I have three dogs two rescues and a Great Dane who I got from a friend,I am a pensioner but very well and active most have said he is too big for me, I’m small in stature,but I believe with training I will,be able to live with him in harmony.have followed you for years..and have learnt a lot..I have also enrolled in dog training..I’m sure my Caesar and I will have a happy life I have a few acres so there is plenty of room for him and the others..Thank you so much for your wise wise words..❤

if he has he is right to do so, i don't believe in any gods myself but i think he does. Shame really cos the belief in god and supernatural came about due to the nature of how we think especially in ancient times when we were ignorant.

Tip: For those with leash laws but still want to go "off leash", most laws say "dog must have a leash", but don't specify how long the leash must be. So just make a custom leash that is 1' long that can be draped across their back. In my experience, training a dog to go off leash is best initiated with the trust and love first, then leash training and verbal commands (language), then train in a large wilderness area where they will be inclined to gravitate towards you.. Gaming and fetch training also does wonders to gamify their bond to you. Essential commands are good, no, psst, stay, wait, come, sit, lie down, and my favorite "do you want a hug?" Hand signals are also great to train in unison.

I wish I can hear/learn more from Milan. Especially what he learned about people from his experience with dogs! I love my dog , she gives me all happiness. With ppl not much! I’ve had hard time. People are often dishonest, they might deceive you, or simply let you down. That’s what makes “assessment “ challenging. You can study psychology etc, but people are much more complicated
