Brilliant use of the Beholder. I love mine and love the way you used yours. Just uploaded a video I shot using it with my Canon 5D Mii but I just got the A7S and am so excited to play with it. Keep it up, mate.

@flodask8ing218 жыл бұрын
+Tyler Palmer Filmmaker Well I use a canon 5d mkiii so it's too heavy/ large for this stabilizer I'm thinking. but love ur Sony those have great low light and video look. I use a Glidecam 2000 for my setup : )

Just ordered my DS 1 today. Can't wait. Pretty easy set up? How long? Is this your first gimbal? Nice work, man. Smooth.
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Nice man!! Yeah it is pretty simple doesn't take too long at all. And it is my first gimbal. I have been using a flycam nano for a long time and it feels really good to have a bit more freedom when getting good shots. Especially when you can turn the gimbal upside down for those low shots! Thanks Paul!

Sick video dude, love the grading especially - how come everyone uses a wide angle? I'm planning to use my 35mm on APSC so about 50mm and haven't seen any tests using that sort of focal length, is it still similarly stable?
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! And that's a good question. Id say its because with wide angles you can really get a good look into how smooth the Ds1 is. Although i have tried with a 50mm and it does look great. Perhaps in one of my next videos i will use some footage through a 50mm. Thanks for your comment and be sure to subscribe!

Tyler Palmer Filmmaker Sweet! Thanks. There is one for sale near me for really cheap and I didn’t know if it would be worth it or not.
@FilmTyler5 жыл бұрын
Legit Drones Depends on how cheap! The beholder was always good with a small lens like the samyang 12mm etc but to be honest you’ll want to use bigger lenses so I’d go bigger!

What can you say about little tremor on 1:55 ?
@FilmTyler7 жыл бұрын
Pavel Batehin Hello Pavel, I'm not sure haha no handheld lightweight gimbals are perfect. Sometimes you get a little shake when your moving too harshly?
@facugonzalez1547 жыл бұрын
hey tyler! How are you man? I have a question. With the A7s didnt have the problem of shaking? I have the DS1 correctly balanced and the vibrations are there no mather what i do!
@FilmTyler7 жыл бұрын
Todos Podemos Yo yeah I'm well! How are you? And what lens are you using? If you have an adaptor and like a 24-105 you do get a bit of shaking but shouldn't be constant. If your using a smaller lens then it might be a calibration issue inside the beholder. I didn't have my Beholder for long though!
@facugonzalez1547 жыл бұрын
Tyler Palmer Filmmaker so thanks bro! i have a sony a7s with a Canon 24 FD 2.8 + little adapter. i think that the motors are so strong for this combination. i will check the PDI configuration! nice video! so much thanks for your time Tyler!

Hey Tyler, awesome video man. Just curious if the gimbal can support and A7s and a 24-70 f2.8 from Sony. I know the weight wont be a problem, but I heard if a lens is too long, it wont balance? Thanks mate
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Hello mate! Thanks a lot! I know for sure that will be fine man. As I also use my a7s with a canon 24-105 lens. And have no issues at all! I just take of the viewfinder guard for extra space!

@nicholaskinoshita42008 жыл бұрын
Are your slow-motion shots, shot at 1080 60fps or 720 120fps? I'm deciding whether or not cameras with 1080 120fps is really worth the extra $$ or if 1080 60fps is good enough. thanks!
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Kinoshita Hello! All my slow motion was shot at 720p 120fps unfortunately I don't have the 1080p 60fps version which is mental. I didn't even know there was a different version haha pain!
@nicholaskinoshita42008 жыл бұрын
Tyler Palmer Filmmaker well your slow mo shots look amazing! I would say you wouldn't need it. Thanks for the advice. I think this helps my decision. When you slow it down do you slow it from 120 down to 60? Or even lower like 24 or 30?
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Kinoshita Thank you! When I slow the 120fps clips down I do it in % on final cut I have the options of 50% 25% and 10% I do 25 as anything more or less doesn't look right

@Planet78 жыл бұрын
Very nice gimbal and video! Thanks for that. Question: If I buy a more powerfull set of 18650 batteries (9800mah) will the gimbal get a longer operating time versus the 2600mah batteries included?
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you! I'm not too sure on that one but can find out from Owldolly the suppliers? With all batteries that don't come with the Beholder you have to be aware that they could blow up! Especially if they are higher powered! Let me know if you want me to find out officially!
@Planet78 жыл бұрын
From Owldolly i got this reply to the same question: thank you and yes, though if you want the best battery life check out our new Beholder EC1, up to 20 hours of battery life.
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Ahh okay! We'll definitely get the EC1. If I had known it was going to be released it would have it now! The DS1 battery life is still really good though! Shot a 3 day festival recently and had no problems at all!
@Planet78 жыл бұрын
Wow 3 days on one charge? But the manual says 2-3h max..
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Yes I didn't allow the batteries to die. I kept them on a constant charging and swapping loop during the festival. 2 hours of use then swap around plus I've never constantly had the power on. And it worked for me! I guess it depends on your use of the beholder.! But 20 hours sounds great so get the EC1!!!!

How were you focusing & what was the aperture?
@FilmTyler7 жыл бұрын
Mayank Jain Hello! I made sure I focused before I started shooting and then kept my distance between myself and my subject! And it was a while ago now so can't remember but probably around F6 too much depth of field makes it a lot harder to keep the focus right

ETIVE CREATIONS Hello! Thanks. And I'm unsure to be honest. I've had someone ask the same thing. All I would say is don't buy anything that's not made for the beholder. Maybe email Owl Dolly they may be able to help. Link to their website is in the description 👍🏻

Does the A7s have continuous auto-focus ?
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Depends on what lenses your using man. my canon ones don't work with it plus i have an adapter. I guess if your using Zeiss it works!
@VincentCottier8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the fast reply ! And well yes, there is no doubt it depends on the lens under consideration, I was merely wondering if the body itself was capable of doing it (as an example, I own a Canon 600D that does not have continuous auto-focus, whereas the 70D does)
@FilmTyler8 жыл бұрын
Well i only bought the body and have only used Canon lenses and it hasn't worked for me! I heard somewhere it may have an auto focus feature but i'm not sure! I'd have to own a sony lens and test it!
