These are simply the best series of tutorials on the web for the Crave. I truly wish Eric would do these types of series for every synth I have (all of the Behringer Synths)!!

I do wonder if I should make more videos, because I've had such positive feedback, but I worry that if I cover another synth I'll want to do many of the same things, to the same level of detail, and folks might find it repetitive.

Bruv, I shudder to recall how long I've owned the Crave, and have been limping along in a fog of uncertainty, unpredictability with the Crave's sequencer... Just to save a sequence, I have to google it every f@#%ing time... But I've just been lost in this sequencer, never getting the same results for apparently the same button presses/doing the same thing, inexplicitly getting stuck in modes that I can't get out of again... To say the least, my relationship with this mother f@!#ing sequencer has been fraught, but you've presented this info so clearly, calmly, methodically, I think I might retain some of this, and actually be able to employ some of this! And just in time, I've been writing a section to this song for three days now, was just about to record last night, but ran out of time, so today I was hoping to record this Crave sequence, a sort of underlayer, or B part to the real bass line, but with your teaching I'll be able to add some dynamics to the Crave's line, just with some gate length variation, some slides, and some ties... really blessed timing! SO MANY MANY THANKS TO YOU! God Bless!!!

Many thanks for creating these. I got my Crave about a year ago, but am still discovering obscure hidden sounds that can be extracted from it, and often refer to your series as a reference. The sequencer is by far the most esoteric part of this gadget.

is there a way to delete all sequences? Even those already saved so that each pattern permanently deletes the sequence? Do I have to delete and save each one?
@music-with-eric3 ай бұрын
Not that I'm aware of. But whenever you go to a new sequence and hit record it will write over whatever's there, so I'm not sure a total wipe is necessary? Consider it a safety feature - if you create a set of key presses to delete everything, someone might just accidentally do it...

Hi eric i have a problem your videos are incredible. When i connect mi crave midi to my groove box i cant sequence external because it activates the seqjencer. And i dont want the sequencer of the crave. I want to contrlol the crave
@music-with-eric3 жыл бұрын
If you don't want the sequencer to start when you press play on your groovebox: connect the Crave to your computer via USB, open the SynthTool app, and Deactivate "Sequencer auto sync." Hopefully this works; I've had some odd behavior in the past when using SynthTool. I don't believe there is a way to do this without using the app.

When I turn my Crave on, the green LED keeps flashing in position 1 in proportion to how far the gate length knob is turned up, no matter what I do. The LED in this video stays on steadily all the time. How do I stop my green LED from flashing?

Hey! I have a problem with silent steps. If I program a sequence with silent step there is still sound on it. It's sounds like it came from oscillator but it's more silent than the step with note on it also this sound respond to knobs like Freq, pulse width, decay etc. It's really annoying and i don't know how to remove it ;/. Can you help me?
@music-with-eric3 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine why that would be happening, besides perhaps the VCA Mode switch being turned on, so that there is always some amount of sound coming through.

Is there any thing one should not do regarding the patchbank
@music-with-eric10 ай бұрын
One should not be afraid of trying things out! As long as you don't insert some massive voltage into a patch rated for a small voltage, you can't really mess it up. It might sound awful, or not sound at all, but that's part of the fun. But as I often say, I'm no electrician, so if you want to do something weird, seek out other sources of information than me!

Hi! Does the crave have patch memory 🤔?
@music-with-eric Жыл бұрын
No. The only thing it can save is sequences. The position of the knobs and patch cables determine the sound, so of course it remembers those things when you turn it off :)

Sorry, I dont' like the crave sequencer at all. Too cumbersome.. too many menu layers. Not beginner friendly. Your vids are helpful but we NEED a step by step video on this function. I'm looking at the keystep seq now, cuz its more friendly. Why are videos for this virtually non existent??? Behringer really did drop the ball with this function. Should of added more buttons and made it more easier to deal with.
@music-with-eric3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a bit of a pain. I usually forget the different key combinations to make certain things happen. It helps to keep a notecard nearby (or taped to the bottom of the synth). I usually use it with a Keystep, and don't try to do much sequencing on the Crave itself. More of a bummer when you use a Behringer with an actual keyboard, like the MS-1 or Poly-D.
@t3chnod3lic3 жыл бұрын
@@music-with-eric I got my keystep second-hand but it's acting up something funny. I've watched videos on YT showing how to use its sequencer, Wasn't working at all until I set the dips to internal. That worked, but now I have another issue. After making a sequence, it doesn't play back like I played it. Most of the time all I get is two notes play only, and the ones that do don't sound exactly as the incoming sound from the crave. It sound totally different, like the Envelope has been changed and ADSR is all different. With it's limited number of buttons and my lack of knowledge here I am totally stumped. Can't even update it via usb as the software doesn't even see it. Any idea's please?
