After few years of using it I think, this synth is a real gem.
@johnfkay83416 жыл бұрын
This synth is awesome. Behringer really nailed it. The fact that they are all sold out completely in Australia at this moment is a testament to the awesomeness. Can't find one anywhere. I'm just waiting for more to come in and I'm pulling the trigger on one. Great demo mate. Cheers

Great demo. Behringer are making great synths for the budget musician. Ironically their all so great I want to buy all of them!

I plan to buy one, 4 yrs later 😀 great video thank you for helping me decide.

god I hope that behringer make more original synths. I love theyre work on cloning the classics, but they have proven to be capable of originality and I wanna see it

the drone at 16.30 is really great, there's certainly a lot of possibilities in this little box - especially if you take the price into consideration. Great walkthrough and honest thoughts as always Tom.

Excellent review. Really good patch examples. Have followed them with my own neutron and got similar results. Even though I am a noob to synths and espesh modular, I completely agree with your verdict. It was the most affordable option for me for both a synth and a modular learning/experimenting tool. I control it with an Arturia Beatstep Pro so I can see what notes are sequenced and to add swing and randomness. This is a versatile and unique sounding instrument, accessible to beginners like me. Liked and subbed. Thank you : )

I have only one question: via on MIDI port can change all parameters (OSC, VFO, Envelope, Overdrive....) or only the note and other simple command can send it?
@mattsmith14406 жыл бұрын
It looks great, really an easy decision if you already have some eurorack modules, even easier still if you're thinking of getting into eurorack. I don't imagine the BBD noise would be too much of an issue, given you could always add a clean VST in post if you don't want the character the onboard delay provides. Thanks for the review, an excellent job as usual.
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
Hey. Absolutely. It's a matter of taste. I personally prefer cleaner delays than to noisy. Cheers ;)
@zoundsic6 жыл бұрын
You can't get away from the delay in it, even off Nick from Sonicstate said it still goes through the circuit and can't be bypassed. Seems to be it's only flaw though.

have a question. If the neutron and its midi / gate output are to be inserted into the v/oct of the oscillator, it would work?
@DaveZiffer6 жыл бұрын
At 10:00 you are clearly using a sequencer but I don't think the Neutron has a built-in sequencer. Are you using an input device that is doing the sequencing?
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
hey David. That's right. In this video I used just my Ableton Live and send out MIDI to the USB port of the Neutron ;)
@Dogboy736 жыл бұрын
Sounds very bloody nice. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. But need a custom face plate. I don't mind the red. But those graphics?!! They look like 80's wallpaper & pillow sets!!

Is this neutron (in this video) connected with a midi keyboard or sequencer?

Yes with the KeyStep but sometimes also directly with USB in the computer with Ableton Live ;)

For some strange reason my Mother 32 is starting to lose its appeal.
@spacemodular6 жыл бұрын
I plan on using the Mother 32 with the Neutron. Neutron doesn't have a sequencer and has a different filter than the Moog Ladder style. I think that they will interface nicely with both patchbays. I am also going to use the MicroBrute with it. I found a red version of the MB just to match!

where can i find or learn in-depth video about how modulars work ? and also the patch points?
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
maybe check out the book Patch & Tweak which is kind of a modular bible with everything you need to know. Otherwise there are tons of videos available which covers most of the eurorack topics. The patch points of the Neutrons are quite self-explained what they make. In the manual you can find also some useful informations. Cheers

Thank you for this review. My only concerns with this product is the integrity of the calibrations over time. Changing regular consumables on instruments I have grown to accept but cracking open a chassis case and adding or removing solder on circuit boards to ensure components are within scope of meter tolerances is something I don't want to get into should this unit begin to go wonky over time. At the price point being offered for all of the versatility (in new condition) does make this unit very attractive and I still want one for the studio. I guess we will have to see over time how the response is on some that have been in service since first release. I would love to hear feedback from first gen. owners that put this unit through the paces on an accelerated performance level and schedule. Analog Bliss. Cheers!

Love that drone making part! BTW, Behringer named the price of 299$. So I don't understand when you've got that 350 euro suddenly :) Maybe it's a price for Europe with taxes... i believe in this then. But not everybody are from Europe here ;)
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
Thanks ;) I'm from Europe and the price here is 345-350€ (including taxes...) In US it's $299 USD but also without tax! In Australia it's far more but don't know why. Cheers ;)
@zoundsic6 жыл бұрын
Something like that, can buy for £298 here but it's listed as a discount down from £416., Austrailia's just expensive for everything as for size of country doesn't have the population to support their tax needs and businesses to the same extent. plus trading partners are a lot further away and you get increased transport costs involved.
@KiR_3d6 жыл бұрын
On the other side... your country is a unique place about nature, recreation and etc. And probably salaries are not bad ;) I'm almost sure that 299$ for USA is like a gift :)

if it ain't made out of beer cans its ok , what you mean by saying cheap aluminum ? are you a metallurgist?
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input. Well it's solid, fits well but for me it's not the best quality. It's very light in weight and thin compared to other synths. Hope this helps. Cheers ;)

SYNTH ANATOMY I bet it'll be fine in the studio away from kids and....cats
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
sure for 98% of the synth users it's fine but there are always guys which check also the build quality etc. For me it was important to mention my impression on this ;)

@therealjackfisher3 жыл бұрын
"The case is cheap".. And next thing he say "its cheap aluminium". Dude you say allot of crap here. Aluminium case is NOT cheap! Plastic is cheap case. Aluminum is the best sht you can get. You dont know anything, yet you make review. Aluminium is shielding from magnetic interfearance. It dont rust. This case is painted so it probably never corrode and you say its cheap?? What else would you prefer instead of aluminium? Maybe you ment thin, but cheap is a wrong term for alu casing.

Beware of what you say so you don't get sued by Uli. Apparently he doesn't like free speech.
@synthanatomy6 жыл бұрын
I'm totally free what I can say but mainly it depends how you say it. The language you use is important ;) Even KORG, Moog etc. have problems with rude language ;) Cheers
@cornerliston6 жыл бұрын
You certainly are : ) but it doesn't depend on how you say it. That's the thing with free speech. You can say almost anything in what way you want. (Almost anything because some things are actually illegal to say even in Europe and USA e.g.) So there's a difference here isn't it? I never heard of any other synth manufacturer that has filed a law suit because someone said or wrote something they didn't like hearing. But I might be wrong? The thing is, Uli IS a shameless copycat. He should just deal with it and not behave like a bloody idiot. The problem with building factories in China is that you have to deal with the regime. Apparently he took the CCP's non-democratic culture to him quite easily.
