After watching several videos my opinion is that the synth excels at the creating funk, melodic and 70/80's type of vibe the best and it will likely not sit well with the younger generation music who are used to hearing today's edgy, instant-gratification music. I would assume in good hands it could do any style. The Unison is fat indeed.

Le problème du prophet-600 et donc du pro-800 ce sont les enveloppes. La MAJ gligli améliore un peu mais ne fait pas vraiment des miracles. Alors oui, le son est fat, warm mais n'a aucune pèche contrairement aux P5, P6 et rev2. Sachant cela, ça reste un excellent synthé d'appoint, pas cher du tout!

I dont understand what the fuss is over the pro800. The dm12 sounds infinitely better. So its a cheap predictable analog poly. To get the best from this synth it needs effects. It doesnt have any. They would be better off cloning an ESQ1.

Maybe what you need to understand is that tastes are subjective. I don’t think DM sounds infinitely better, both sound good, so how you prove your opinion is more valid than others?. Maybe you have a bad ear, maybe the rest have the bad ear, or maybe people like different things. Either way, we can’t prove exactly who is right. But maybe if several musicians have an opinion, maybe there are reasons behind. I personally like how this synth sounds and I also agree that having Ensoniq clones would be very nice (full editable would be great, including Fizmo).

It’s just another prophet, very affordable. yes, you should effects (chorus, delay, reverb and more). In this video you hear the pure sound of the pro-800 without any fx ✌️

Can't hear you over the sound my imagination going over how to use the Pro-800. I never considered buying a Deepmind. Just not really into the Juno-esque sound it offers.

Deepmind sounds like shit with no low-end and it’s fx are noisy plastic crap
