Sonically beautiful, the variety of sounds is fantastic and hard to imagine a type of sound it's not capable of.

Hi Mitch you maked a good demo, it always a pleasure for me to hear and see somebody able to play a kayboard 😉 I am agree with you, firstall the Pro 800 sound I think it's like much more Prophet 5 Rev3 than Pro 600, becouse 3340 VCO and 3320 VCF clone there's inside. Not Pro 600 components IC was replicated in Pro 800. For this way it imitate the all synthesizers where 3340 VCO and 3320 VCF Cem was installed: OB-Xa OB-8 OB-SX Elka Synthex (3320 VCF) Crumar Spirit (3340 VCO) and many others synth used 3340 VCO. I hope to buy it soon 😊

It does sound close to my Prophet 5 Rev 3, you are correct. Worth buying for sure, maybe even buy two, do a master detune, and get a stereo system without using any pedals. I've been toying with the idea of buying a second one just for that reason alone.

@@drsamurai009 For me, got only one Pro 800 its ok. I create a stereo audio using effect insert in parallel on channel strip bus 😉 Infact many mixing engineering used this way to create imaging stereo on mono audio Prophet 5.

One of the best "demos" of the P800 out there ,well played and programmed.And as for your opinion about Behringer and their "cloning" of vintage synths ,agree that they are replicas ,not clones,like a software emulation in a computer, but in Behringers case made out of hardware parts.

Hymne by Vangelis! Possibly my favorite of his songs. I made a very similar sound on my Minilogue XD believe it or not. I'm actually surprised at how close I got. Love the Enya song too. But I bought this synth mainly to be an overqualified mono haha. Great filter with no bass loss at medium resonance.

Really nice sounds from an incredible machine. The sounds for the price are just fantastic. The Poly Mod section is slightly lacking from a full Prophet 5 but it's mostly the same machine, especially now with noise that the P600 lacked without the Gligli mod.
@HrWisch4 ай бұрын
The Pro 16 is still in development and will have all the features of a Prophet 5. Until then, the Pro 800 brings a lot of the sounds for less than 400€. If you can't wait, Dave Smith will happily deliver a selection of amazing synth with original Prophet DNA. Ok, it's another price range but also another level of build quality. The great thing today is you have all those options to choose from.
@drsamurai0094 ай бұрын
@@HrWisch Indeed. I'd never substitute my original Rev 3 Prophet 5 for some sounds only a P5 can get, but the 800 works amazingly for most stuff. Plus it's a module so far easier to move around my studio than my old (and to this old man, a bit heavier than I remember, LOL) real Prophet 5. :) It is amazing times we live in for sure, to have these options!

I have the unit. Yeah, sounds very retro! Did you've tried the latest FW? I'm not sure that mine is the last. I've found that Polymod depth is not deep enough. So I'm just hoping that they will fix it. It could be an option (with a multiplier). Sysex has at least one free value (I've checked) if not more (depends on the size they've chosen).
@synthmaniak4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, I will check it out I think the latest fanfare I update that it was about 3 to 4 months ago? But I have the unit for about eight months now, and I didn’t discover any problems so fair.
@KiR_3d4 ай бұрын
@@synthmaniak No, it's not a problem actually. _Maybe_ I just read that in the 1st firmware versions the depth for Polymod modulations was deeper. You can create really pronounced FM sounds with this.

Are those stock presets or your own .? Nice video , imho , this is not a beginner synth at all µ.... beginners will not be using its full potential , and so will be left with a mixed feeling , they absoluty need fx ect ... a deepmind , or korg Xd , modal would be more appropriate , the pro 800 is imho for conaisseur !!

I've been eyeing one of these for a little while now. I've been seeking the right companion for my DM12, I have that and I wanna get to a point where I have maybe 2 other synths and just work exclusively with those.
@synthmaniak4 ай бұрын
Hi there, I have the Behringer DM-12 snd made at same point I might make sound comparison, In mean time,,Pro 800 8 voices, mono out and don't have any of FX,, plus sonically sounds closer to the Prophet 600/ Prophet 5 with I preferred. If II nee to pick the winner, I preferred, as for only sound alone I will pick Pro-800. As for Deep Mind 12 have12 voices of polyphony, Lcd screen and stereo out's. But the bigger advantage of DM-12 is the bill in FX. Biocide's they just sounds different, so to compassion will be hard. With the DM-12 is passable create big pads and wider stereo feel and sounds closer to tone of Juno 106 The Pro 800 just sounds good and sounds closer to prophet-600 /5 I hope that this will answer your question
@swanofnutella47344 ай бұрын
My two cents: I think the DM12 is a good "gigging" synth, with the built in FX and low financial accident risk. The Pro-800 is better for bedroom song-smithing. Layering mono tracks with more sound shaping at the oscillators, and adding FX, when needed, later in the workflow, potentially from more curated sources.
@swanofnutella47344 ай бұрын
Interface, multiple voices and aditional bells and whistles aside ....just in terms of raw character, how do you feel the Pro-800 stacks up against the UB-Xa?

It’s difficult to hear the synth behind the wall of chorus and reverb.
@synthmaniak4 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. However, I stated in this video that level of effects are ver low. Might be slightly more reverb than chorus however, both effects are extremely low. So most of the signal i dry, and the corals are used as the custom-made using TonePrint app. The chorus signal is extremely low so I don’t know how you hear in the wall of chorus there?
@Claude_van4 ай бұрын
@@synthmaniak I cannot tell as long as don’t have a dry signal to compare.😢 But the sounds are good. And I like what you played in the demo.
