As a foreigner visiting China for just a few days, you absolutely can enjoy the superficial benefits you mentioned, which have cost that paid by many ordinary Chinese who is exploited by CCP. China has a population of 1.4 billion, nearly half of whom have earned less than 200$ per month. While if you are a native, you would feel the contrary. Two hundred dollars? Have you really been to China? The minimum wage in China is currently $700. If a store's salary is below $700, it will not be able to find people. Moreover, the price level in China is very low, and people can buy essential goods at a reasonable price. However, it is a fact that high-end goods are expensive

I mourn for the young soldiers who were on duty on June 4. They were hung and burnt by the rioters. The windows of the government buildings were shattered by stones. By observing the happenings around the globe, I am now aware that a foreign command was behind the innocent student movement. Some of the student leaders were determined to detonate blood at the expense of their fellows while they won their tickets to the USA.

Correct, if you have searched for relevant documentaries, you will know that this is obviously a Western conspiracy to subvert the Chinese regime. These stupid people only know one tank man, but they have never been able to find evidence that the tank ran over people. Based on partial generalization, no wonder China will surpass the West. Westerners are immersed in their own imagination and obsessing over facts, and their decline is foreseeable.

The Tiananmen Incident, that is, the June 4 Incident, is a taboo in China. But in fact, I think the Communist Party of China (CPC) should be more confident because I saw a documentary on the Scholastic Movement when I was a university student, and I was also filled with dissatisfaction with the Communist Party's governance of the country at that time. However, as I have slowly gotten older and more than a decade has passed, I have learned more details and have a better understanding of how difficult it is for the country to be governed. The Tiananmen Incident was not simply a student movement. Behind it was China's economic reforms, which led to severe inflation and layoffs of workers. A large number of workers gathered to vent their grievances, and many police cars on duty were burned, and police officers were burned to death and hung in the open for public display, which was beyond the scope of peaceful demonstrations, and the student movement was a symptom of it. It was only when society was at risk of unrest that the army was mobilized into the cities to maintain law and order. How many people were killed or injured that night in Tiananmen Square has not been declassified, and what both the Western media and the Chinese have heard are actually rumors. But because China's ideology is a continuation of communism, it has been politically ostracized by the West and even portrayed in public opinion as the antithesis of a democratic society, in order to demonstrate the superiority of a democratic society. This military and political suppression while doing business with you and producing cheap goods has lasted for nearly half a century. Until recently, because of China's national strength, manufacturing began to jeopardize the core industries of the West, many trumped-up charges more in the form of absurdity in the international media. For example, China's use of child labor, Chinese people are eating pets, the massacre of millions of people in Xinjiang, credit scores, these, the Chinese people hear these feel funny, but in the years and years of Western public opinion propaganda, the majority of Westerners believe that these are the facts. This is the sad part of the world, where everyone lives in a cocoon of information.

Beijing's sister cities in the United States are New York and Washington, while Haidian District of Beijing is quite similar to the Bay Area/Silicon Valley of the US (i.e., prestigious universities + high-tech enterprises, e.g., Tsinghua University, Peking University, headquarters of Bytedance, Xiaomi, Baidu, etc.). Therefore, Beijing's overall positioning is akin to the combined functions of New York, Washington, and the Bay Area. Some people compare Beijing's Financial Street to Wall Street in New York. Nowadays, Wall Street is more or less just a concept, but Financial Street is indeed China's genuine financial hub.

Overall, it's a good video, but there's still a noticeable Western bias regarding the Tiananmen issue. Instead of presenting only the Western narrative, why not ask local Chinese people? They are neither ignorant nor naive, as you seem to suggest. They simply don't subscribe to rhetoric aimed at dividing their civilization and nation. If you're not well-informed on a topic, it's better to refrain from giving an opinion. You were in China, they have different values and view of the world, not everything is about America's point of view.

I once told an American friend that because he only understands English, he is only exposed to one side of the narratives or the surface of issues without cultural or historical context. If he understood Chinese, he would discover a whole new different verizon. I said I would stay humble about some other country’s issues if I couldn’t understand its language. He didn’t agree and thought he knew better about China by reading English articles in US. The Tiananmen massacre issue for example is a lot more complicated than what 99 percent of foreigners thought they knew from western media. They would miss the narratives from most of students who participated in that movement, except for a handful of student leaders selected to be interviewed be western media for example.

5:40 Well, the people of China may not know the truth--but neither do most people outside China. Check out 'The Myth of Tiananmen Square" in the Columbia Journalism Review, by Jay Mathews. Mathews was Deputy Beijing Bureau Chief for the Washington Post and was at Tiananmen when the events unfolded in 1989. He points out that no massacre of students or anyone actually occurred at Tiananmen, though there was an unrelated deadly worker protest many miles away, and that most media outlets at the time and shortly thereafter acknowledged this truth. However, the media gradually created the myth about Tiananmen that exists to the present day.

At that time, there were hundreds of journalists from various countries near the square, but apart from the photo of the tank, there was no evidence to prove that the Chinese military had used weapons. The man facing the tank finally walked away. When I was a child, I witnessed that period of history, and what I will never forget is a traffic police officer who was hung under a bridge and burned to death by violent. Do your research, don't just rely on propaganda.

In China, most people know about the "Tank man" video. And in the west barely anyone knows that it's part of a video. The irony of you claiming you know more about the "Tank man" than Chinese while being clueless about the whole video. Lmao. The west never showed you the video because the narrative doesn't match. The official number is in a few hundreds and half of them are cops and soldiers killed by violent rioters. You claim you don't know the real number is because your regime said you the real number is unknown. Talk about brainwashing. Lmao.

It is a good show! Beijing has old and new and new features are added from time to time. If you go to outskirt of Beijing, 30, 40, 50,60 kilometers, there are so much to see. People say that if you go visit just one day a place, 365 days will not see all of them. Kublai ( 13th century ) set up Beijing as a capital, then Ming and Qing Dynasties all using Beijing as the Capital. Not counting pre-Kublai time, Beijing has at least 800 years old. No way to see them all.

Although China is a one-party autotocracy, all seven leaders of China have higher education and graduated from science and engineering. Basically, they majored in engineering, mechanics and chemistry, and one of them majored in economics. Mao Zedong, the first president, majored in education. China will not let comedians lead 1.4 billion people.

overall good video but I suggest if you are going to talk about more sensitive topics you do more research rather than regurgitate western narratives and propaganda regarding tiananmen square. there's a lot more to it than the short clips you see. most of the violence was outside the square as pla troops were entering the city, and not by students but rather disgruntled workers over inflation and other economic issues at the time. yes you saw the picture of the guy and the tanks LEAVING the square after it was all over, but did you see the pictures of burned police/military vehicles and beaten/killed troops when they first entered the city well before reaching the square? if you want more details you can look it up but in short there was actually no 'massacre' in the square itself. when time ran out and negotiations ended, the troops allowed the students to leave peacefully. I suggest you look up an article by a cbs correspondent richard roth who was there - 20 years after he wrote an article titled 'there was no tiananmen massacre'. and please, everyone in china knows about tiananmen square. most just don't know the western bs propaganda version because it's blocked.

Also, when we talk about military response, it's important to remember that Beijing (and China) in 1989 was still poor and did not have the resources to train and equip modern riot squads. When local police are overwhelmed, the next line of defence at the time was, simply, the military.
