Muslims in China’s capital gathered at the Niujie Mosque - Beijing’s biggest and oldest mosque - to celebrate the start of Ramadan on April 13, 2021. During the month-long religious festival, Muslim worshippers traditionally congregate for prayers, gather around festive meals to break their day-long fast and exchange visits. While the Muslim community is a minority group in China, Islam has been practised in the country for about 1,400 years.

In Beijing, there is a well known Muslim area called Ox Street (not to be confused with the one in London) and it's famous for its Islamic delicacies (Halal food with a twist of Chinese cuisine, very tasty).

They are descendants of 色目人 (middle easterners) from Mongol Yuan dynasty. They were brought into China as bureaucrats for Mongol empire. Mongol empire was the least racist ruling power in the world. They recruited people from all kind of background into their power structure because Mongols are the least ethnocentric people in the world. It started from Genghis khan who appointed important power positions based on talents over his ethnic connection. Genghis Khan's meritocracy over kinship actually upsetted a lot of his relatives.

I'm an Indian Hindu and for me Ramadan is really special! I live in a state called Kerala and here my neighbours are muslims and they every year call me to their house on the last day of Ramadan! On the last day actually it's a really tiring task to visit 4 houses and they feed me like it's the end of the world!😁😂 I would eat 4 lunches that day! And muslims have a special skill in making food! But I'm really sad that this year I can't go due to covid!😢 Last year too I really missed Ramadan! And *Happy Ramadan to everyone* 🌙 Edit:: I found many trolls in my reply section! Thought I will reply them but just gonna ignore those jobless fellows!😊

@silferbuu86
@silferbuu86 3 жыл бұрын
@@recordkeepingandinformatio8206 it can definitely apply because the theory is targeting a minority group because they are Muslim; since Uyghurs are Muslim, that is the whole objective. Even though they aren't Uyghurs, they are still Muslim, able to celebrate their holiday. Why would Uyghurs be targeted for being Muslim and not the rest of the Muslims in China? China is re-educating Muslims, then why are they in the news, celebrating? I'm American, but even this is weird in terms of a narrative. Germany targeted Jews, so they targeted everyone of Jewish descent, including those in other countries. What makes Uyghurs different from other minority groups aside from being Muslim? From what I heard, there are a ton of minorities in China who aren't of Han descent, including a lot of Africans from Africa. I know a lot of blacks who are Muslim, and Islam is one of the predominant religions in Africa, so why aren't Afro Muslims targeted as well?

@@MidnightxCrow "lot of doctors worldwide have proven its efficacity and benefits even more than the other type of fasting." Doubt that. I've met many health instructor and about fasting all of them recommends to drink lot of water to stay hydrated. Did a quick googling: "But dry fasting can be dangerous. Since you’re not allowed to drink water, you run the risk for dehydration and other complications. There also isn’t enough research on the benefits of dry fasting. In this article, we’ll explore the supposed benefits, along with the potential side effects and dangers of the practice." www.healthline.com/health/food-nutrition/dry-fasting There you go... edit: even the page mention this "*Drink water.* Staying hydrated controls hunger and supports your body’s basic functions."

What about those in Xinjiang?
@joerig96
@joerig96 3 жыл бұрын
