Brand loyalty is one thing, but having an ego is completely different. Usually it's the people with no builds having the most to say.

I remember watching the movie cars, fast and furious, playing Grand Tourismo 4 on the PS2. My dad helped get into cars, helping work on his own car, and getting me hot wheels, pretending I was driving it.

Mugen FB here! This is so true I was born in 2002, but I grew up in the car scene because of my dad. It took a lot of time to build a good-looking and performing car. The car scene was so much fun growing up, especially in the Caribbean but nowadays guys my age just care about HP, the loudest exhaust, and other stupid things that don’t matter. My car took me three years to build to where it’s at since I got the car three years ago in Junior year of HS.

Great video, man. I was born in 86. Growing up in the late 90's & 2000's getting into cars by playing Gran Turismo and getting copies of old tuner mags like Import Tuner is how I learned about cars. It was a cool time to grow up. I think if it was a young kid these days I would be too discouraged to get into cars because the culture is so different and its all about flexing on instagram and youtube and such.

Reason why I don’t join car meets for specifically my car ( family FD1/FD2) is because of that very same reason. People put each other down. I appreciate other car builds when I see how clean it is I get curious how they do it as well. It’s amazing. What you say here is true.

Yeah this kind of behavior makes me avoid cars and coffee and all the local meetups.

I’m 27 and I relate to all of this. The internet has been one of the coolest things I’ve seen in my life but it’s also one of the most problematic as well.

I was fortunate to have been to several car meets while living in Japan...mind blowing. Virginia had some pretty good ones too. Was able to check out American muscle cars @ the Hardys, then the import tuner rides just down the street hrs later. I like them all! Foreign & Domestic 🙂

So many good points. At this point I’m kinda just doing my own thing. I would love to build my own JDM style garage with a loft (like in Tokyo drift) and a lift with the nibori flags on the walls and a custom neon sign on the outside of the garage…being all mysterious and stuff lol

The car community is on a downward slope. I’m 33 and at 16 I got my first car a Honda (all my friends had Hondas) and we would build them and race them. Car meets were everywhere and any where. The people were great. Now you have these side show take overs BS. Everyone buying these new cars and showing up to meets looking like a car dealership all stock. And for those who race in today’s age it mostly all about money. GTR’s with 2k plus HP. All the fun of friendly races, appreciation for builds is out the window. One reason I don’t have social media. It’s pointless. I just stick to my own builds by myself and drive what makes ME happy when most only do it for others.

@@Vicwavy 🤣 The bumper I remember seeing you got it off of a CSX, but wasn’t sure if you then sourced a fd one from Japan or not, did you? Or who did you get the CSX one through?
@Vicwavy9 ай бұрын
@justinguarino201 Nah so the bumper was jdm both front and rear. Front took a good while from Japan but my trunk and tail lights are Csx fd5 got it from the homie in Canada. I wanted to get the Canadian trunk so I can run our license plates with no issues. Jdm trunks you need a bracket
