Now I understand my electrician husband's "hurry up and wait" jobs. He can't pull a meter unless it is an absolute emergency. He did have a call once where a customer had problems and he discovered that the wiring from the meter into the house was on fire inside the wall. He yanked the meter and started pulling the siding off the house (after calling the fire department and grabbing an extinguisher). He got the fire out and saved the house. Congrats Dan on ur 42 years from an old Substation Electrician/ Switchman . Did 38 yrs. NW Indiana winters with lake effect. Been out 13 . Still miss the guys, but not enough to move back . I’m a transmission operator in the US. Your procedure for switching, even down to whether or not you get an email or hand write the steps, using cell phone instead of radio, waiting for crews at multiple ends of the line, and calling to verify clear, is all almost exactly the same as we do it. Keep up the great work!

That was real nice. wishing Dan the best retirement and a big thank you for the years of work keeping the power on all them years. I am a electrician in Boston NY,US and we shear the same power grid. I have held up before waiting on linemen to cut power or remove meter for me. a power outage takes priority over me changing out a service when the power is on for me. glad you pointed out that neutral jumper in place before running new line.
