@@barbaraar2184I have a young toddler and so have to get up early with her, but one day when she is a teenager and old enough to go to school on her own I will likely eventually start keeping my natural hours again, which is to stay up till 2 or 3 and sleep till 9 or 10 (I work remotely). My mom is the same as me. Long after we grew up, when she retired from her job, she drifted back to her night owl ways :)

My mother would do her sewing at night. I could hear that sewing machine going 90 miles an hour because she was always in a hurry to get everything made. She made all my clothes and her clothes, as well as patch all the boys jeans when they would wear them thin. My mother had a rough life, but she sure loved her family.

I was a night owl most of my life no matter how hard I tried, some people are wired that way. Now that I’m in my 30s and worked years of night shifts my body is ready for sleep at 8-9pm! I’m still not sunshine and daisies in the morning but it’s more doable. Also we love Kefir, we usually have a bottle in the fridge! Our friend who lived in Russia for a couple years introduced us.

I am night owl too, since my teenage years. Had my 3 children in my 30's, and even though they would wake up in middle of night & about 7-8 morning, I couldn't go to sleep at a normal time. Without young kids & hubby underfoot I could get alot more done. Also it was the best time to give the kitchen floor a good cleaning & finish any dishes & pots. It always seems I have to wear myself out, before I can sleep. Now I'm much older, retired & by myself and I'm up later & sleep late in morning, unless I have an appointment. I, too thought of my late nights as my quiet time & enjoyed them, when my kids were around. Enjoy all your videos & keep them coming. Especially enjoy it when you take us around shopping & the countryside. God Bless!

Bless you all. This is the second video today confirming that some of us are naturally night people and there’s nothing wrong with that. A week ago my closest cousin and friend literally threw me out of her house during a visit claiming all I did was sleep all day and stay up all night (when I’d altered my schedule while I was there to be up by at least 11 or noon and in bed by midnight because she went to bed at 8:30 pm). Then last night my lifelong best friend told me I’m not normal for being up all night and sleeping during the day “because circadian rhythms don’t work like that”. I’ve had this preferred sleep pattern since I was a child and am fed up trying to “fix” it with drugs and treatments. I don’t understand why people think I have a problem if I am attempting to accommodate their schedule.

I've always been a night owl too but go to bed even later than you. Part of what's nice about the night is that because it's not business hours, you're less likely to be bothered and it feels like the time is somehow your more than during the day. Your kitty purrs so loudly, so sweet. I laughed when you put all the laundry on the other cat though 😅

When my daughters were very little and my husband was traveling for work and rarely home, I used to do all my laundry and housecleaning after they went to bed. I'm a night owl too which worked perfect for me when I was a nurse and worked the night shifts. Now that I'm retired, I mostly relax at night and maybe bake something for the morning and get the coffee maker ready.

God, I feel this so much. Night time has always been the most comfortable and productive time for me too. Like you mentioned, it's time you have for yourself because everyone else is sleeping and that kinda makes it magical. I can actually concentrate on things instead of worrying about hundred things going on at the same time.

As a night owl (and cat lover) I can relate a bit to your routine. Research indicates that whether one is a night owl or morning bird is partly due to genetics (heritability). I come from a family of night owls, but unfortunately am the most owly of them all- am probably more of a vampire. Since the bulk of society is based more around 'morning people,' I've always felt ambivalent about being a night person. But it looks like you've put your nights to good use!

Since I've retired and it's just me now, (kids are grown and flown) I've been indulging my inner night owl. I routinely stay up until at least one am. Because we live in such a 9to5, "getting up early is good and virtuous" world, it was hard not to feel guilty at first. But, I finally realized that the only "clock" I'm on is my own! I enjoyed watching your quiet "puttering," and your loudly purring kitty.

My husband and I are both night owls, I've always been one, even as a small girl. He works afternoons/evenings, so we get up around 11 and go to bed between 2 and 3. I work from home so that helps. You're right, getting up earlier doesn't help, there's nothing virtuous about it if you're exhausted.

Hi Victoria - I’m also a night owl but I have insomnia. It started when I was my late husband’s caregiver during the time he was sick from his lung cancer. I had to give him various prescribed meds during the night hours - help him to the washroom - and make sure he didn’t go outside in the cold in his pyjamas. The cancer had affected his mind (like some people who have dementia) and he wanted to go outside in the dark. Though this was several years ago - I still have it plus my brain won’t shut down at normal bedtime. I don’t want to take drugs in case I have to wake up in a hurry. I enjoy your interesting videos as they are about everyday life. Take care. Cheers from 🇨🇦🍁

Like you I love night time Vika. I love early morning too but night is better. When my husband is sleeping I can switch off from everyday worries and just do whatever I want. Our sons are grown up with their own families so I don't have to rush around in the mornings either. My husband is a man who likes to be on the go all the time. Being married for 45 years can be exhausting sometimes! I am 68 and started work when I was 15. Now is the time for me to do what I want to do so I never clock watch and only go to bed when i am really tired and sometimes that may be around 1am or even 8.30pm. Please continue to enjoy your me time.💕

Hello Victoria from England. I make Kefir from fresh grains and full cream organic milk, and drink it every day. I usually add a little pink Himalayan salt. I love the slightly sour taste and find it good for digestion. Occasionally I buy ready made Kefir in shops and like this too. Like you my most productive time is late at night around midnight. But she is already asleep by this point. So it makes it very awkward to clean & do chores. Because you have to be quiet. She does most of her chores before 10am. But has to be quiet as not to wake me. Neither one of us chose our biological rhythms. We are just wired differently. Have tried Kefir. & it's not bad.

I love going grocery shopping at 1 in the morning, no crowds. If I'm really restless I've gone for a mile and a half walk in my neighborhood at midnight.

I love shopping at night too for that reason. And I also love writing and working at night because no distractions. Except texts from my mom lol because she is also a night owl

What a great video and I love seeing your kitties. I’ve made my own raw milk kefir for years. Here in the USA, it’s considered a drinkable yogurt. It’s amazing for digestive and immune health…so great for your health.

I too was a night owl for most of my life and my husband, NEEDED his sleep!! Unlike you.... I was also a morning person, who could go to bed at 2 or 3 am, and then get up at 7 and be busy as a bee all morning... which I still am like that, though I just don't stay up past 12 any longer. My husband is not a morning person and though he gets his sleep, he is still very slow in the morning, but I begin to wind down and get sleepy at around 3-4 pm when he is still going strong. As ranchers, due to this, I am the one who goes out and checks young cows that are pregnant with their first calf, at 2 or 3 in the morning. We check these every 4 hours around the clock, but I do the middle of the night check. Sometimes the cow I was watching has had her baby, but I see another one just about to start.... so I go back every hour to check until I KNOW that all the new babies are doing ok, and I have no others "thinking about" going into labor. So there are a few nights each calving season that I am literally up all night long, and sometimes I have to go get my husband to help with one!! When we were first married I was getting up with our youngest son Ty, as he was a baby, so this wasn't an issue. Or back when we had a few brood mares and I slept in the barn to video the births of our foals! Most of the time I just went to bed... if I could, meaning I didn't have any cow in labor... after I went out and checked them. My husband will get up at 6:30 or 7 in the morning and go do that early morning check, before coming back in for breakfast and to write down cow numbers of all the new babies born since the tagging the evening before, after 4-5 pm. After that, he goes out to start feeding and doing the morning chores... which takes him until around noon. Then I will get up around 8 and if I have cows to feed, that is the first thing I do is go feed my bunch of cows 3 miles from our house... too far to haul the bale processor with the tractor. I have a bale bed and roll out the big round bales with my pickup. Then I come back in and eat a light breakfast while using a special ink pen, I make the new calf tags from the list my husband has left me, and hang them up to dry. These tags are the same color and has the same 3 digit number as the mama cow it was born from, so mama and baby have identical tags... easy to find who the lost baby belongs to, etc.! After making tags, I have a small 2-3 hour window to get my daily housekeeping done and clothes washed and put away. When my husband comes in for lunch, we eat lunch and then we both lay down for an hour nap.... when and if we can, and then he goes out to start tagging the new babies I had made the tags for, and I give him about 30 minutes to get started before going out on my 4-wheeler (quad) to start driving each mom and baby pair he has tagged, into their proper pasture. Male calves with their mamas in one pasture, female calves with their mamas in a different one.--- Our son Ty, now 28, comes up from the main ranch, where he has spent the morning doing all the feeding of the bulls, and all the young calves down there... and he comes to help pair out and then he goes from pasture to pasture with his pickup and feeds all the bunches a protein cube we call "cake".... or I affectionately refer to as "cow cookies"! We have LOTS of pet cows that very much seek you out to be hand fed. About 1/3 of our herd are tame cows or calves.--- Then it begins again the next day.... for about 10-12 weeks during the spring. All that to say.... now that I am 61, that night owl routine has changed a bit for me and MY husband. I used to be able to come into bed and he slept right through my coming and going to check cows in the wee morning hours. ----But now he wakes up every time, so I spend spring calving season in our basement bedroom so that he can sleep all night.... plus, I can set an alarm and go to bed at 9-10 pm and get a couple of hours of sleep before I go out to check cows, knowing that I can come back in and go back to bed without waking up my husband. lol If I was a night owl and was NOT a morning person, I don't know how I would function?! LOL

I’m night, my husband’s day, but he rarely is awakened by my getting into bed around 4-5 am. We have time between 4-11 pm when he goes to bed. I appreciate that he accommodates my need to sleep during the day which I don’t find strange but others harass me for often very harshly. At 68 I think I know what my body prefers.

Oh I love Kefir!! I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), so I constantly am looking out for food/drinks that rich in probiotics. Sometimes I add salt to it so it can taste similar to the Turkish aryan drink (salty yogurt drink)... which I find is really refreshing in the summer!

Hello there from Poland, we know what kefir is 😁 as about the clothes I would recommend using a normal razor - completely quiet. Love your cat under the pile of loundry

My whole family are night owls, we stay up late and don't get up early. It's really hard to change that as I'm naturally more alert at night than in the mornings. But it's not necessarily a bad thing! 1:30am would be too late for me though

I think people are just naturally morning people or evening people. They say opposites attract. You were not alone you had the cats to help (?) Take care!

Kefir sounds like what we call buttermilk. It's kind of sour too. I love it.

I grew up on kefir, even more than yogurt. It's the easiest to make! I love it. It kind of feels like a treat even if it is good for you. I'm wondering if you ever deal with SAD in the winter when there is not much light in the northern hemisphere. When I moved to the NE USA, it is much much darker in the winter and I noticed less energy and my sleep was worse (I have always been a night owl but this was a lot worse) so I started using a therapy light for 20-25 minutes in the morning and it has helped a lot.

I love Kefir. In the US, we say it kee-fer. The kefir i buy is not sour but fizzy. I have mango flavor now. I ussually get strawberry. Maybe plain is sour. I drink a little each day and it is all mine I also drink out of the bottle. Those sweater ball shavers are the best. I have had one for 20 years. They make sweaters look new.
