Is the racism against Blacks there like it is on the mainland? I know racism is everywhere but is it something that's in your face like it is on the mainland? And do you feel generally safe living there?

I’ve always felt safe in Hawaii! The racism isn’t blatant. I’m not sure where the myth came from. Unless people are talking about other islands like Maui and Big Island.
