i heard it preached for years that not giving 10% of gross income was the one sin that would take Gods hand of protection off your life, allow the demons of hell to surround you and your family and destroy you. That if you weren't giving 10% off your gross income and God wasn't chastising you for it, then you weren't saved. And yes they also preached that if you didnt tithe that God would take his tithe one way or another, either by car trouble, health problems or something else.
