I am ISFP. I can not be around people with no common sense. Im older and just have no patience for stupidity and rudeness. People wonder why I like to be alone at times.I just cant handle fake talk.

Hey fellow ISFP! I watched a couple of your videos and I do see it! When I was in my early 20’s I also pretty much shaved my head! I (ENFP) am best friends with an ISFP. My interactions with her are almost always positive and upbeat and we have never been in a fight. I think her Fi is masculine bc when she’s not having it, everyone knows. The mood swing is soooo intense going from WEEEE FUN ISFP AND ENFP SILLINESS AND CAR DANCING TO JUSTIN BEIBER!!! Then we get to our destination and she sees a guy wearing a shirt her ex boyfriend wore and the whole day is ruined. She’s in a visible pissy mood and my magic ENFP powers don’t work on her! I massively agree with your comment about wanting to BE the person you’re with. I used to get a little annoyed bc she would mimic and take on hobbies, interests, sports teams, music tastes etc of anyone new she was dating or even if she befriended someone new at work. Now I see that she wasn’t copying or mimicking because she didn’t have her own tastes, she just wanted to mesh with that person so much, she wanted that connection and kinship so she created ways for them to have that connection. We don’t live near each other anymore but we’ll always be bffs! Loved this video, thanks for sharing!

Yes, same here....I was just telling someone that I have like a swipe left swipe right feature built in to all human encounters. When I've gone against that instinct I've always regretted it. ISFP lady! Also your mannerisms and word inflections are like watching myself in a mirror, the melonated version. I'm an ISFP. Not sure who else in my life is one, though. Funny, some of the things you say are spot on with me, some not so much. I am very intuitive, like you, regarding other people. I make quick judgments regarding whether I like/can trust them. Sometimes I sense something is not right with someone I barely know, and later I'm proven right when their scandal is exposed (that happened with our mayor). But as far as being a ghost, not so much. I'm very aware of how long it's been since I've last interacted with someone. Sometimes, true, I'm silent for a while, but I'm very loyal and do get back to them. People generally don't have to hunt me down. Also, while I express empathy, I have a tendency to be judgmental inside my head (working on that). I don't feel a desire to be one with any human; I like my space too much. But, yeah, I'm usually easy-going and adaptable. I'm adventurous, crave freedom, don't impose my values on others (unless they cross a line, then I will speak up -- in front of other shoppers, I yelled at a thief running out the door at Home Depot). I adore nature, love learning practical/useful info, am very hands on and good with tools/gadgets. I crave deep, meaningful interactions, hate corporate/political/small talk, want the truth no matter what it costs. Am very aware of space in a room and how to arrange decor so it's functional, aesthetically pleasing, and visually balanced. Your facial expressions and mannerisms are so cute! I was wondering if he was hurt or trying to manipulate me! My male friends would tell me he was trying to sexually abuse me! My female friends were telling me he was just being a jerk and to forget him. One day, I have no idea what I did that he actually called me! You people are such good companions, but don't use words. You'll say something hurtful, but instead of talking it through, you role play and it comes across as playing with our feelings! But, you won't understand. I am an ENFJ and I do not understand why I have not run into any ISFPs, I know a bunch of other personalities except the ESTJ, ISTP, and ISFP types. Many around me are so predictable. Maybe ISFPs don't like me idk, but I think it would be fun to be friends, since I am loyal and authentic as well. I like being random at times, to go on spontaneous trips and doing things last minute despite being a meticulous planner, I guess because I am a turbulent enfj I can be more adventurous. I'm suprisingly blunt actually. I don't know if other ISFP are blunt, so I'm not sure if I'm an ISFP. But I guess I learned and figured through my childhood, I have to talk about my "moods" and be direct about them. That lead to just being blunt in general. I asked another introvert directly if they hate small talk. At least it's better to avoid trying to be friendly with them while they loathe you for talking about small stuff.

I so relate to what you say about being easy and wanting others to be easy too so when smbd is too mean with little reason and not willing to take any responsibility (several times ) then I let them go. But it was a long path of trial and error to understand that, maybe cauze im over loyal. The pothole I also identify with, I cant just "snap out of it", I need to suffer alone for some time😅. Maybe cauze we are driven by strong emotions, they demand some time and effort. I think we can be easy victims for narcs (cauze they play on emotions) so we have to watch out and take our time with new people.

I tried as an INTJ to like an ISFP male and that just didn’t work at all. I’ve said this before that you seem super nice as a type but in practice for an INTJ it just didn’t work. We just don’t seem to see the world 🌎 in even close to the same way when you get down to the nitty gritty and it’s just not an INTJ’s jam to deal with people who lead with their emotions they way ISFPs do. It seems the goal post is always changing due to the feelings aspect and since that’s so subjective an INTJ is like 😳🏃🏾‍♀️...but again it seems like the type overall is nice but from a distance.

I understand, we are much more in tune with our Fi than INTJ. We do share the exact functions just different order so we should really understand each other, and where you are weak we are strong and vice versa. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, he might have just had a little more baggage coming into the relationship and wasn’t mature enough. Hope the next time is much better ;)

The "ghosting" can be real, i.e.: distance between interactions because his need for quiet reflection during break time. That said, we've spoken enough to know we have some foundational things in common, e.g.: curious nature who have a love of Creation and preference for harmony; value emotional maturity and authenticity. As an INTJ, I'm finding I'm assessing him personally while keeping my cards close to the vest. May ask him out for coffee at some point, but as an ISFP I wouldn't be surprised if he has a high moral code not to engage with (female) coworkers outside of the workplace. As he's well-respected, I can tell he highly prizes and invests in his reputation.

I’m curious how much drama on a scale of 1 to 10 you experience? I know an ISFP who has high standards/criteria for friends and people in general. She also moans and complains that she wants drama free friends and relationships but she is typically always discussing a drama story. Also, she perpetuates her own drama by her criteria for liking people.

DList Lover ha! You might have pegged a huge issue that happens with us! IP and EJ tend to have more issues surrounding people! We can get stuck with being more fluid when it comes to dealing with people issues. Our decider functions are at polar ends. Te/Fi or Fe/Ti. Fi/Fe probably being a little more dramatic because of the feelings. I would say on a scale of 1-10 now at almost 50 years old I deal with maybe a 2.5? It rarely happens. We really do hate the drama, yet we do find ourselves getting caught up in it. In my 20’s had had lots of friend issues, some Caused by me and some not. A lot of ISFPs I have heard leave a big void that the tribe hates, and we become topic for a lot of that convo. A couple drama ISFP celebrities that come to mind are Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift. ;) we really mean well, but sometimes we can’t get out of our feelings and see rationally. Shhh don’t go blabbing our secrets! Lol

Haha! Thanks for replying. I feel for my ISFP sis but I also see how isolated she feels sometimes. She wants more connection but every person’s fate is determined within a few minutes of meeting them. It was great to hear your perspective!

DList Lover not sure if she is still young, but we do need those hard life lessons to get ourselves to motivate to change. We do not budge from the outside, we have to want to do and be better from the inside. Just know if the outside world has negative words for us, that isn’t even the tip of the iceberg for our inner critic! We are 10x harder on ourselves than others, those high standards start from the inside unfortunately.

D. McG. I think why we don’t see it as selfish is, a lot of the time we don’t even know we are in our own little Fi world. We get so caught up in what we are consuming around us we forget to look up and take in others around us. We really have to be self aware of our actions and most people are just on auto pilot throughout the day doing our thing. It really is like we are a slave to our Fi, and the outside world won’t budge us if we don’t want to. It is like we are being untrue to ourselves when we go against what we want and believe. It really is the ugly side of Fi! I know when I’m doing it and I’ll call myself out but boy do I HATE when others call me out first. The thing is once I’m called out I will process it, and be like yeah they were right but my knee jerk reaction is usually feeling Attacked and I want to jab back. It has taken years of growth mindset to be aware and change my hardwiring reaction.

@ McG. For me the me time which is doing what I want and when and how I want is self repair time. Other times its self healing time being around toxic people or just too much chaos. If I don't do this every day I get run down mentally, physically, psychologically I tired ignoring it and every time I do that I end up in mental breakdowns not a weeks worth but months worth of time. If I over extend myself at work, with family, or associates too many times and don't recharge I crash and am worse for it. So yeah it looks selfish AF but my batteries are eaten up with every interaction and mostly for things that aren't positive.

For a couple of months now I have been studying the Myers Briggs and have reached a dead end in finding my type. I thought I was an infj then I thought I was an infp then intj and now I think I’m an isfp. Do you have any tips for finding your type? Or maybe some thing about isfps that could help me decipher? Because I highly use introverted feeling which I had no idea just how much I use it. 😂 And I use Se to express what I feel. I play music and am writing a novel of a world I created that portrays reality in a metaphorical way. I use lots of Ni and Fi in creating my ideal world and can definitely see myself lacking Te because it feels impersonal and strange even. Anyway I know this video was posted a year ago but I’m gonna comment anyway. I subscribed too. 💖

That’s everything to me + we can go deep super deep emotions and stuff but somehow we manage to get back to the Se surface and positivity. Hmmm that is a hard question! I guess as an ISFP I don’t like being overly pursued and smothered. I do prefer others to approach me I’m not one to chase (as a female) We are very good at picking up subtle hints so if someone is giving me a longer look or a certain smile I know they are interested. So, you can drop some subtle hints and see if he responds. We don’t like needy or desperate people so it is a fine line with us. I’m not sure if I’ve even had an INFP friend in my life so I can’t answer the second question. Good luck!!! ;)

Your mileage may vary but I am an ISFP who had a crush on an INFP woman (and failed). As an ISFP I exhibit wildly different behavior depending on how confident I am in a situation. I will seek to know that the time I'm spending with you is good and worth both of our times. Being with me on a good day there's only one super easy but crucial requirement and it is to show me that you enjoy my company. If you enjoy my company you may discover I'm eager to pay for your portion of the meal, I'm listening to anything you have to say (and I can really get a conversation going if it interests me too), I'm looking to keep the energy up so you're having a good time, and overall I'm just really eager to show you the exciting sides of my life. However, I seek concrete knowledge and validation from you that you enjoy spending time with me. I love words of affirmation and gifts. I hated the feeling I got when it seemed like the INFP woman wasn't letting me into her thoughts. "I don't care" and "I don't know" were very common phrases that I had issues with. I noticed she would keep any negative thoughts she had to herself and I would confront her to try and get the truth directly from the source and she would never give me a straight answer, which was AGONIZING for me. I just wanted to hear what she was thinking so I could validate or dismiss the thoughts within my own head. Most of my energy is spent thinking 'what would this this and that person I care about think if I were to do this this and that?' However, once I lose my social energy or patience all this gets flipped on its head and I stop engaging, stop caring, stop talking. Basically if I care about something I REALLY care about something. If I don't care about something I REALLY don't care about something. If I care about something but I either fail to accomplish it or I feel someone is not helping me when they should I will be very upset. Also all the girls I've been with said I've given them the best time in bed they've ever had. If you're on my list of people I care about (very short list!), all I'm thinking about is giving you as good of a time as I'm having, but in return I want you to show me that my efforts are not being wasted. Take all this with a grain of salt because the words of an ISFP are fickle, convoluted and prone to misinterpretation, despite how awesome we like to think we are at explaining things.

@@BrunhildeHips I haven't delved deep enough to know beyond ISFP and INFP yet so I know nothing about SJs. In my mind it's super apparent when I'm into someone but maybe it doesn't translate outwardly like I think it does. Shorthand for figuring out if an ISFP is into you: invite them out to a 1-on-1 outing and after you've expressed interest if they don't meet you halfway then they (likely) aren't that into you. If I get invited by someone I don't care about I will make absolutely 0 effort to actually meet up. If I'm into you I will MAKE time and/or reschedule, or I will be upfront and honest about why I feel bad for not being able to go (either I feel like shit or I'm actually busy). Make sure it's 1-on-1 if you want the full truth. If you're having a good time with me in a group setting it could just be that I'm playing up the atmosphere because I care that someone else (not you) is having a good time. Also please don't mistake ISFP going cold or wanting to go home all of a sudden as a sign that you made a mistake or he lost interest. We ISFP types have a hard limit on our social battery and we can appear go from 80% juice to 0% in a matter of seconds. We make an effort to play up the atmosphere until our brains get dropped in a deep-frier. Again take my explanations with a grain of salt. If I'm being honest with myself if I'm into you, I will want to show you that I'm into you.

I do prefer to be left alone 99%of the time during conflicts. I need that time to cool down and get my thoughts in order. Pushing the subject with us makes us feel attacked and then we are like a wounded animal and can get unpredictable! Lol

S. U. There is a rare occasion when I’m really upset, and I don’t want to be left alone, yet I don’t want to be bothered! I know psycho! Lol in those rare cases just letting me retreat to a room, but know you haven’t “abandoned” me totally (stayed in the home vs take off in car) that gives me time to sift through my thoughts and emotions. When I’m really upset I don’t like being comforted or touched I’ll just stiffen up and feel more intruded on. I just might be weird though, so best practice is just ask us ISFPs what we want, we are usually good at expressing or desires. Really watch our body language too because we give away a lot of tells when we don’t feel like being vocal. When we are good we are really good, and when we are bad we are really bad! Those extreme moods can really get the better of us sometimes! Sorry! Lol When I was younger I would usually be so stubborn and wait for others to come to start the apology, but I’m getting much better at going to the tribe, and being vulnerable and say sorry first. That has always been very hard for me even when I knew I was more to blame. A lot is growth mindset too, and not everyone is good at it all the time. I don’t love talking on the phone actually, I much prefer in person. If the phone is the only option then I’m fine with it. In general I’m not a super chatty person I love just being with others and be quiet and not feel awkward with the silence. I can hold long convos, but I really have to love the subject and feel comfortable with the person.
