After watching this half a dozen times and wondering how Mitchell knew she was a ghost, it suddenly occurred to me that, duh, as a vampire he would be able to tell she doesn't have a heartbeat.

I love how Mitchell is an large man, an immortal vampire who's older than the average vampire, shown to be stronger than seth who's older than him, can beat a room full of vampires, has killed hundreds or even thousands of people, and yet he wanted george to protect him

I love how Mitchell's vampirism makes him really aware of other supernatural beings. Like, he immediately knew Annie was a ghost, and he knew when George had turned Nina. I think it adds something unique to the trio somehow. I don't know! It's just what I think :)

I just LOVE the way Russel Tovey speaks.There are all brilliant actors. The series itself had some -ahem- problems but the actors are so fuckin talented that it makes you love this series even if the special effects are crappy.

I guess they wanted to mirror the last episode of Season 1, which also featured a flashback. Since that one was of George meeting Mitchell, it would seem to be appropriate for this one to be the scene where Annie meets the boys. Even though the tone of Ep. 8 was very dark, this scene might still have worked, as a sort of contrast.
