As a teacher, I've often wished more children would understand this concept, versus one where they think that everything needs to be "fair". There's been such an emphasis on justice/equity/fairness, (which does have its merits), BUT.... I don't see this humility idea coming through in schools. LOVE this object lesson; it's very easy for a child to grasp. Thank you!

More humility = More of Christ

If you want to make a name for yourself and a strong future. Teach people not to be afraid or timid of the Bible. Stay with the first 5 books of the bible, show how easy it is to learn the first 5 book names. Like you have 5 fingers. Then pick out stories from each book. Keep it simple, always with a challenge. Each time count to 5, then say the first 5 books. Then see who can say them the fastest.

School should be fun and a team challenge for all ages. A church should "rock" and be bold for the lord.

I think we should be humble, but I disagree about putting others before you. I think we should always think more about ourselves and put oursellves first, but at the same time help others and not be arrogant. Omg this is so difficult topic , being in balance is hard
@cmbible3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are times when we must think of ourselves first. For example, how can you teach someone God's Word if you don't first know God's Word yourself? You must work on your relationship with God first, before you can help someone else. So in that sense what you say is very true. However, that is not what this illustration is about :)

@@cmbible maybe it happens coz a lot of ppl compare themselves with other people , but in reality we should not do it. anyway thanks for content

I disagree and here's why. The greatest example of humility we have is Jesus Christ. He is God, he chose to come down to earth in the form of man to die on the cross for our sin. He didn't need to do that, he is God. Can you think of any greater sacrifice for others than that? He wasn't thinking of himself this act was 100% about others. The sin that he died for was us being all about us.

Good lesson. Only criticism is that it seemed like the kid was too old/mature for the basicality of it, the way he kept finishing your sentences, saying, "Yep", and looking like he was bored and ready to move on. I personally believe that early preschool would be a better time to teach it, but better to teach it than not to...I even know some 40, 50, 60-year-olds who need this lesson! Lol...
