Note to self: work on proper form for multi-person videos and improve public speaking. Anyways, due to the limited time I had between filming and posting this video, the subtitles are still in the works. Also, as I found out it's a bit difficult to automatically caption a multilingual video (without doing so directly on the video itself during editing), here's a link to the transcript of the video, which will be added to this video asap along with the translations: weareourbrains.... My apologies for all French/Greek errors. Starting with my next video, all German/English subs will be posted on time with the upload.
How to Close Caption YT Videos (for Content Creators): support.google...
How to Add Closed Captioning in Your Language (for Viewers):
Take the video URL you wish to caption but replace "watch" with "timedtext_video". This should take you to a rather self-explanitory page that allows you to either upload or manually insert your captions and tag them appropriately.

Oh and Michelle I would love to watch a video from you. Maybe you can tell us something about your daily use of the foreign languages you know. Like when and how long or for what you use them. That kinda things.

Yes it is great to have more resources. Because Im learning Japanese if I'm looking up information about Japanese history, a movie or a band, I can go to the Japanese Wikipedia and there is usually more information than the English Wikipedia

Luckily I understand German, English and a little bit French because this video is a lot more interesting that way :) I had a touring guide in Italy once and he could speak 8 languages fluently! and he was really really good at all of them. I was so impressed. Do you ever worry about not speaking a language perfectly? because obviously the more languages you speak the more mistakes you are going to make. I speak multiple languages too and it's difficult for me to keep up with all of them!

An interesting perspective. Regarding the multilingualism/bilingualism concepts, you might be interested to look into how linguists seem to use the term multilingualism in a different and maybe more precise way than the rest of us. They also use the term Plurilingualism in a way you might find useful. Some people to check out on this: David Crystal, David Little and all the stuff at www.ecml.at or www.coe.int/t/dg4/linguistic/

The word in French for free (meaning costing nothing) should be "gratuit" not libre. E.g. "Le livre, c'était gratuit" "Libre" means free in the sense of released or unoccupied. E.g.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having confidence in your language skills regardless of what level they're at. For someone with her experience, her French is fine - better than average when compared to her peers in the same level course and when considering her hypothetical knowledge of the language, decent enough to place her into higher level French without prerequisite courses at uni - and she is understood well by other French-speakers. Moreover, she is aware that she makes mistakes. Even the best language learners can have their shit days where they can barely understand a word, bumble like an idiot and fail at everything from accurate reading to basic comprehension. I wouldn't judge someone's ability to speak a language based on one short snippet of them speaking on a certain day under certain conditions. I mean, I still get comments telling me I don't know German based on a 30 second clip of me from 5 years ago before I ever visited Germany or finished my degree, so you can hopefully understand me when I say: Don't judge a person's language skills based on one random encounter, you likely don't have the whole picture yet. :)

Maria Athena I agree with you 100% on this! And btw, your sister DOES speak French very well. Even though she made a few mistakes, I could understand everything she said and she has an ok accent. Keep rocking on, girls!

My English is on level B1 I think, I'm not quite sure. :)
