The “recorded line” comment is obviously supposed to intimidate the uninitiated that the IRS is recording you. The sad part though is that this works on a small percentage of people to make it profitable enough for them. But wasting their time and playing with them is SO funny. Not funny, because lots of Americans are stu.. er, ignorant. I have a coworker who’s brother bought Target gift cards and gave away a couple thousand dollars! These jackazzes are horrible and it stinks that I have had to teach my 80yr old mom about them. She’s really savvy now but they keep getting trickier, so I still worry. Thanks to all the scam baiters that have or take the time to waste these weasel’s time, thus keeping them from stealing from our more gullible friends and family!

The lady in front of him told him it was a scam, we told him it was a scam and the Target security guy got on the phone and busted the scammer. These guys are the worst type of lowlife garbage. We stopped him but he had already been to another store and had given them about $1000 already. I don't fault ANYONE who can waste the time of these evil losers. I don't care how they do it and if they record it and make a little money from doing it, that's okay by me. Taking advantage of older or less savvy people is so wrong and whatever it takes to shut them down needs to be done.

Nice one. Their instructions include a list of words that may be added to the script for legitimacy purposes. Any random order is acceptable. Also, avoid the use of please and thank you as it frightens potential scammees if we are more rude and loud. Additionally, say okay at the end of each and every sentence as this word lulls them into abject obedience and we can force the pressing of windows key and rrrrrrr together more easily. Also recorded calls are terrifying. HA!!

The fake IRS and Microscammers called so often, we cancelled our home line. Now, I kind of miss them. I've been a Jehovah Witness to them (making it up as I go....apologies to the real ones), a wealthy woman so busy with my manicures and such that I've asked them to go ahead and send the police-they could just pick up a check and save me the trouble. My favorite was keeping them on the phone while I drove to Walmart and run into a friend I haven't seen in years- accomplished by just driving to my sister's house and getting her to play along. You're hilarious and I'll keep watching while you waste their time!

What they do is install a form with their username and password so you can not access it and then they want you to put in your checking account routing number and account number to do a wire transfer but the transfer goes to them not you.

I get these calls practically every other day. they started several years ago, after I called DELL for support and the call went to Pakistan or India. those alleged "technicians" then give or sell the info to their friends or family and the scams are on. it's the fault of DELL, HP and all other computer companies who deal with corrupt companies overseas
