When I passed through Branson and saw the show, Alan was still with the show, but I think he was in a chair?? I don't really remember... but I remember them saying it was a special treat that "we still have Alan here with us.." Lucky me! Just makes that memory even more special!

I can't imagine the amount of stress they experienced as kids to perform perfectly. Most kids end up rebelling against parents, society, etc. The one thing the Osmonds had to keep them grounded, and sane, wasn't their parents. It was a loving Father in Heaven.

Oh, I cried through this- this was very painful to watch- what a high price they all paid- my heart goes out to them.

Hairypolack, Jimmy was very smart. He wasn't a Group Member but also knew not to depend on The Osmond Group for His Livelihood. He had a Restaurant, An Art Gallery, he was a Smart Guy, he was the one who suggested that they set up Shop in Branson, MO.

Was Alan's house on Osmond Lane one of the houses that they showed?

I agree. I think that should be obvious to anyone who was a high schooler when they were famous. Everyone pays a price for fame and I think they all loved their growing up years but honestly if you think they didn't pay a price for their being famous and are old enough to rember their prime you are probably naive.

hairypolack no not really! That was talking about two different periods in Branson! The Osmond Brothers starred in a show at the Andy Williams Moon River theater for a while! Later, Jimmy bought a theater and started a variety show years later!

Jimmy bought the theater for the purpose of getting his older brothers back together. He understood the sacrifice the original four brothers made for the younger three. He also wanted to be back with his brothers. The five were very happy to perform in Bronson.

They were The Victims Of The Disease To Please, As For The Spankings, it depends how you look at it. To alot African American Families, this was the way to keep the Children in Line. I was raised on only Two Spankings but I knew never to Buck My Father's Authority. George meant well but I think that because he didn't have his Father since he died when he was a Baby not to mention his Stepfather being "Mean" to him may have affected him. Another mistake was that the Fellows never learned to have a "Life" Outside each other. They were like The Ewings, they didn't know how to "Separate" themselves Emotionally. They were so happy to have The Cash, but why didn't they have Meetings with Accountants to make sure that the Books were balanced.

I find it sad that their father abused them They were so talented and such nice people surely it was against their churches teaching for George to be so unkind to them!

I think that George felt that no Father could be Too Strict with Eight Sons in The House. Randy Jackson said the same thing about his Father Joe with Six Sons. Yet George did a much better job. Every Osmond Son who got married stayed Married.

That is not entirely correct. Jay divorced and married again. The other seven borthers stayed married.
