These type of “mini-vacations” are my favorite. If you live in a big city, but haven’t really ever bothered to explore it, then the times we’re living through right now with the Covid and all are great for such things.

ok, I have so many things I want to say: - the explosions of colour with the lanterns and the flowers... so beautiful! - that black sesame icecream looked yummy - hummus shouldn't be so hard to make LOLOLOL kyuho please make sure that you are blending the garbanzo beans (after they're cooked and cooled down) together with the garlic, tahini, a bit of lemon juice and a good amount of olive oil. if you don't have a liquid vehicle you're going to end up overheating the motor of the blender or food processor (I prefer using a food processor). hummus is so easy to make that I can't believe it almost broke you mentally ahhaha - share the recipe of the dressing pls 😊
@2hearts1seoul3 жыл бұрын
Yup-definitely found that out the hard way when blending 😩
@veritush3 жыл бұрын
@@2hearts1seoul it's OK, you're going to become a pro hummus maker hahha following the same idea of blending stuff with garlic and olive oil, you can experiment with other veggies or legumes. there's a couple of traditional variations of middle eastern pastes that are super yummy. baba ghanoush is made with eggplants and muhammara with red pepers (I use red bell peppers because I can't take the heat). my mom also does this with carrots or squash. some people also do it with beets. you can get creative if you don't want to follow the traditional recipes 😊 but, life without hummus and muhammara is just not worth living

i'm a relative newbie to your channel from manila, philippines. but let me just say that your videos are just so light, refreshing and funny. between kyuho's appetitie, sarah's devotion to your cat family and beemo's idiosyncracies, your trips allow me to travel through your eyes and provide a welcome balm to soothe my cabin fever. i especially appreciate your trips around seoul which offer so many interesting possibilities. i used to just roam around seoul, itaewon, gangnam (the usual touristy spots). you guys are lucky to have 4 seasons. we have just two - summer and rain and our summers can get pretty brutal being a tropical country and all. having visited countries like vietnam, singapore, japan during their summers, which one do you find the most "unbearable"? keep it up guys. stay safe.
@2hearts1seoul3 жыл бұрын
Ohhh, thank you so much for watching and for the very kind words 🥺 We actually both hate winter so much and wish we’d just have fall, spring, and summer 😂 Honestly, summers in Seoul can be absolutely brutal, with incredibly high humidity and temps reaching up to the 40s even. We’ve been to Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, but when it comes to hot and humid summer days, they are pretty much on par with Korea. I think the hottest was Danang (Vietnam) in September the first day were there 💦

I can soooo relate to Kyuho's harrowing hummus experience. In my case, my blender was not suitable for blending the cooked chickpeas with the garlic and olive oil (a food processor would be better). The blender got overheated and was no longer functioning after i blended the chickpeas into a smooth paste. That was my last experience at making hummus😀🤣

If you’re looking for more uses for the tahini, a super yummy salad dressing I like to make is garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and tahini. All ingredients to taste because some might like it more garlicky/lemon-y/tahini-y than others. So simple but so flavorful! That hummus and the salad Kyuho made looked delicious!! Also for a little bit of added flavor to the hummus I like to put a bit of cumin! That ice cream looked amazing too!! I wish I could try the one Sarah had!! 😋

Hi Sarah! Hi Kyuho! Wow! So much work went into hanging those lanterns. They’re stunning! I love that you were both being tourists......It’s always fun to explore. I’ve lived here in SoCal since 1978, and believe it or not, there’s still so much yet to see. OMGEEE! You guys! I LOVE Hotteok, and with ice cream? I’m drooling! Sesame ice cream yes, but with sesame oil? How unusual! Oh goodness! Kyuho! Your chickpeas on the floor! Even little Beemo was upset. I’m glad that you didn’t eat the raw chickpeas tho-if I’m not mistaken, there are toxins in raw chickpeas that can cause stomach discomfort-even food poisoning. Bravo Bravo on accomplishing it the next day! You did it, and that salad is mouthwatering Kyuho! You always do it right, as most of us eat with our eyes first. Your food always looks beautiful! As always, thank you for sharing your week with us and for sharing your Ana Luisa discount code. I love my blue earrings. Take care you!

I usually use canned chickpeas when making my hummus. I usually get organic canned chickpeas to cut down on the additives that can be in canned food. The bonus with making your own hummus is that you can experiment with the flavorings you add. What do you think hummus with gochujang or gochugaru would taste like? Or how about adding Sambol or Sweet Thai chili/ garlic paste.

It hurt watching Kyuho's first attempt. Here is a trick, next time for when you boil the chickpeas, save like 1 cup of the water and when you blend the chickpeas, add maybe 1/4 cup first, keep adding until the consistency is what you want. Also the Tahini is suppose to be stirred because it's like peanut butter - oils rise to the top. Also another tip, add all your ingredients into the blender at the same time, don't separate them. Only thing that may take time is adding additional chickpea water if the consistency isn't where you want it.
