Sarah has become a veritable therapist through the last year of podcasting. I have learned much from listening to callers and Sarah's responses. This is an incredible show.

I think it’s weird that people call in with issues, some inane some serious, she isn’t qualified to answer (she admits) and put her on the spot. Not cool. Is this why she started this, to answer people’s psychological, physical and emotional problems? I watch less and less because, it seems like many just want to have her comment on their stupid problems so they can tell friends.
@davidadams23953 жыл бұрын
@@helethead I don't know, but I feel the callers and her responses have raised some interesting questions. I'm sorry you aren't receiving any benefit from the format. *The Endless Honeymoon* podcast with Moshe Kasher & Natasha Leggero is set up similarly, so I'm certain Sarah's format was intentional.
@helethead3 жыл бұрын
@@davidadams2395 why would what they are doing make you “certain “ that is what she is doing? You aren’t really sorry, so again why would you say that? I didn’t say I wasn’t “ receiving any benefit” so again, why say that? I didn’t say All of the calls were bad. Argh

@@helethead Here team is able to pick and choose which calls they air. If she's put on the spot it's because of her teams choices. I'm sure they have had to weed out tons of stuff... I also do not think anyone who calls is expecting anything more than her opinion.

I just want to say - the last caller, the woman from Texas whose girlfriend's parents don't support their relationship - you are a rare and lovely soul. I think you're doing everything possible (in ways beyond my own patience) to be supportive and loving of your girlfriend AND her relationship with her parents, right now is probably just harder than usual and your support will guide her into the next chapter, whatever it may be. You are a splendid human.

I'm from the South and I moved up North. I stopped calling people by Ma'am and Sir when an older woman took serious offense and asked me in a harsh way "Who are you calling Ma'am". I had disrespected her by calling her out for being older...

Sara, I hope you get to read this. I have loved your work for so long and just today occurred to me that you would be perfect for a biopic movie of Joan Rivers. I wonder if the, 'fear of being wrong' is really the 'fear of making a mistake'? From an evolutionary point-of-view that makes sense as making mistakes in out ancient, evolutionary history could easily result in death. Ironic, since we also praise fearlessness and you can't be that without risking mistakes all the time.

Love this show. Been a big fan since the Sarah Silverman Program 15 years ago. But whoever screens the calls should be a little more discerning when it comes to weeding out trolls. The "21 year old" caller sounded like she was much closer to 41 years old. I can't imagine someone who's 21 really enjoying Sarah's humor (though of course it's possible). And then the alleged Texan in an interracial lesbian relationship and the partner's parents are "Conservative Christian" and Catholic. That was a pretty ham-handed attempt to get a reaction; the caller sounded like she was just stringing together buzzwords to create a story. If you are going to troll a podcast or message board, please master the art form to sound believable.

@Robert Evans You meant to say: "I don't care about English culture" or "I don't care about English language"? Well either way that's fine. But if you want be a progressive and avoid being dismissive against other cultures you can't use the tittle sir incorrectly.
