Bosnia has a 19 km strip of land that allows it access to the Adriatic sea. That is where Neum is located. It is based on an agreement signed in 1699 between the Ottomans and the Austro-Hungarian empire. I know this information because we had plans to work in this area.

The agreement you are alluding to was the Treaty of Carlowitz, signed in Jan 1699 between the Ottomans and Holy alliance of Austria, Venice & Poland. But it essentially concerned the status of Hungary which was ceded to Austria by the Ottomans. This treaty had no link with Neum as such. This sea- link was given to Bosnia & Herzegovina after the bloody civil war of the 90s when it gained independence on the disintegration of Yugoslavia.

I just started watching your channel and I like it very much. About the Balkan states, they were formerly Yugoslavia until the US and it's allies decided to break it up as Yugoslavia was very close to Russia. I visited Montenegro last year and my experience more or less in terms of their citizens is that they are not welcoming to brown or black race. Also, many illegal migrants especially from the subcontinent use this region to enter Europe by crossing the Adriatic Sea. Because of this reason it's next to impossible for hitchhiker to get a lift as there are strict laws for assisting illegal migrants. You could have saved some money by camping if you are too adventurous. Our appearances does not reveal whether we are genuine tourist or aspiring migrant because of the bad impression left behind by our predecessors who initially used this route.This is the truth and it's very common for travellers from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in the West.

Unfortunately that's the truth. Every 50 years in Balkans has been having wars, generations after generations fights for their land and culture. Every single family has at least 2-5 family members lost to these wars. Being small populations, they are awarey of people from different culture and race. If you come to the US, you would see states which are 3-5x Montenegro where brown immigrants are mojority and decide for their state future (NJ, NY, VA, CA) etc. Simply they don't want that to happen there. All of us wouldn't have been different if we were in their shoes.

Love your spirit and story telling is amazing. These places are usually off limits for ordinary tourists because of remoteness. Therefore what have encountered is not unusual plus you overcome the situation to the best you could. Great initiative

we did it on Pakistani Passport with valid used multiple USA Visa, for Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and didnt face any issue, totally Makhan, But Croatia of course not possible

28 countries on Pak PP that’s a amazing. So far am on 40+ countries. I have plan to travel Balkans Trip but I will be on Rental car. I mostly rent a car and room around. I have 🇺🇸 passport so should be fine crossing borders, only issue I see is Rental car policy. If not allowed then will take the bus. ❤️🇺🇸

Bilal Jee, I wish you would have seen the vlog of Ibrar Hassan (Wild Lense) when he passed through the same area and had to cross into the Bosnian area of Neum to continue his onward journey towards Montenegro and Kosovo. But I am surprised that how a person who has travelled to more than 20 countries could goof- up on such a geographical reality.

1. There is a lot of diff when we plan our travels on Bike VS buses. Plus traveling on Green passport has worst nightmares on every border VS german border. 2. And also such things happen with Humans, and who TRAVEL. Those who dont go out from home, never do mistakes.
