hi chhavi , the things about parenting you discuss are really good and helpful. I have a very basic question to ask in here...as you been a cosleeping mother for your first child, as Indian mother we prefer that for good bonding...I have a question Is it really essential to sleep train babies at such an early age, when they have night fear ,colic or any discomfort , separation anxiety. If the baby is happy in cosleeping should we stress them to be in their crib.everyone thinks that kids know nothing they have to be taught everything from scratch. children eventually grow...and they won't sleep with you once they are adults.eventually they all will get to know where they have to sleep. in my case I don't overstress too much with sleep training and enjoy the cosleeping moment.
@BWWC4 жыл бұрын
It's completely your choice. To answer your questions, like you said, babies don't know anything and have to be taught everything. They don't know cosleeping, or night fear, or separation anxiety. These are conecpts we teach them unknowingly. They understand love and care because they have received that in the womb as well. Sleep training, if at all you choose to do it, needs to be started early for this very reason. Or else you can surely continue to co-sleep till your child is ready to sleep in his/her own room. This age is vastly different for different kids, ranging from 6-7 years to teen years.

Morning he sleeps in one cradle and night he has another one. At night I've reduced rocking him when he wakes up. Sometimes he sleeps back on his own. I still need to understand his routine 1. I usually rock him in hand and then put him to sleep when he is almost drowsy then pat on his chest. How can I stop doing that? How to initiate this sleep training and make sure he sleeps on his own without making him cry. Shall i wait a Lil more until he starts to play with huaa toys? 2. He is colicky in the evenings do u have any solutions 3. At night he has colics and he wakes up. What do i do then 4. Also he cries to before sleeping which has become very normal also during day and night. Can i do something about this

If you dream feed, the baby will not cry. In case he cries, don't reduce, try the next night. Start night weaning ONLY when your baby is getting enough milk through the day and night weaning is only for comfort.

@kamanagautam59424 жыл бұрын
Renu Rawat Sleeping is a developmental milestone. Co sleeping is best for your child and it makes your child more independent. I am not sure why she said child doesn’t sleep properly if sleeping with parent. There are enough evidence based researches on co sleeping. Also please don’t wean your child at the age of 7 months. Breastmilk should be given till 2 years
@RenuRawat4 жыл бұрын
@@kamanagautam5942 Thank you for replying.. I don't want to wean my child right now. I just want him to sleep peacefully throughout the night. Do you have any suggestion regarding this?
@BWWC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kamana! I'm not suggesting you discontinue BFinf! That's quite preposterous and I wonder what implied that. There is also evidence based research about why night feeding should not be encouraged for too long. Also please do read up on how disrupted sleep affects physical growth in babies. And also research says that more that 130 babies die each year due to accidents while co-sleeping. And I said my baby was disturbed while co-sleeping is because she woke up every single time I or my husband tossed or turned in bed. Having said that, I reiterate that parenting is a personal choice and nobody can dictate how you want your child to sleep or be brought up. Happy parenting!

Hi Chhavi I know you have recently become a mother so your experience is new and just one baby old. First of all, babies can't sleep on their own or can't be sleep trained. Their circadian rhythm doesn't allow them to so night feeding is so important. Babies get 20-25% of the nutrition at night when they night feed. Their needs can be hunger, sleep cycle transition, thirst, or the good old comfort. Babies don't sleep through nights till the age of 3-6. Don't force them or let them cry to develop something that it's not natural. In fact according to development psychologist this would hamper their emotional growth. Breastmilk has hormones that helps in going to sleep and if course the good old oxytocin or love hormones that binds you and your baby so why torture your baby. Let them be baby and grow at their own pace.

Hey thank you so much for your comment. I'm a second time mother, with an older daughter of 7 years. I sleep trained both my kids at 3 months. I continued night DREAM FEEDing Arham till the pediatrician gave me a nod to wean him off. That's what I said in my video too, check with the doc if your baby is ready to be weaned off the night feed. Arham was weaned off all night feeds by 5 months as per doc's advice and his weight etc. Areeza though, herself rejected all feeds around the same time. There are many things that I have learnt with experience & my experience is all I'm sharing. Also, again with my experience, both my babies have NEVER had inexplicable bouts of crying and are extremely calm. I attribute it to the peaceful sleep and the rhythm I follow with them. You're free to have your own opinion and practices. Lastly, all mothers are great and instinctively good at parenting. Happy parenting to you too! Love & peace.

She's too small right now. She will slowly learn how to sleep better. All you need to do is continue with her routine and be patient. If she's crying, there is definite discomfort. Find out what that could be. Also, babies cry a lot if they are put to bed when they are already over-tired. You need to read the signs that your baby is now sleepy and put her to bed immediately.

Hi my baby is 5 and a half months old. I am also facing the same issue. And what i have figured so far is that it might be because of sleep regression that generally hits at about 4 or 5 months and lasts for a month. The mistake that i have done is that my baby has developed sleep association with nursing and that's what needs to be changed. I am still figuring out how.

Hi Chaavi, I am having hard time finding a good breast pump. Which pump do you use to express milk? Also is it good to breast pump and feed a month old baby with spoon not bottle ofcourse? I am still not sure if my baby is getting enough milk as sometimes i have to feed him in very short time like in between a few minutes. Its not time 10 min every one hour or two hours. He has colic issues as well and i researched that excessive crying also lead to gas so i was thinking of using pacifier to sooth him in those few minutes when he cries specially when i change his diaper, when he is colic, while tummy time and massage also when i change his cloths. So is orthodontic pacifiers are for a month old baby? I also need your thoughts or experience on how to save breast milk. J know we can use it upto 4hrs in room temperature until there is no yellow speard on top.
