I had a scary moment when I did this hill with my then 10 year old grandson a few years back. We were on our way down, negotiating our way through the bog and I had instructed him to follow in my footsteps. However he strayed only slightly and when I turned round he had sank up to his groin in the bog. Slightly panicking that he might sink further, I struggled to find ground around him to support my weight, but eventually I managed to get my arms under his armpits and pulled him out (all the time hoping his boots wouldn't get sucked from his feet). What a mess we both were!! We laughed about it later but it definitely wasn't funny at the time😬!
